We stayed at Le Telemark in Tignes and I had mixed feelings. At first I was hesitant to book because I usually choose places with higher ratings on Google, but the photos looked great so I went for it. When we arrived, the team upgraded us for free to a larger apartment with great views, which we really appreciated. The apartment itself was great. Spacious, comfortable, and it had everything we needed. That said, compared to other Pierre and Vacances residences I have stayed at in France, this felt more like a solid 4 star level than a true 5 star experience. The pool and spa area are beautiful and were a big reason we chose this place. However, the jacuzzis were not reliable. They did not work 3 out of the 7 nights we were there. The main issue for us was service at the front desk. The apartment was cold for the first two nights, and we went down more than five times. The desk staff were not helpful and did not take the problem seriously. In the end, I spoke to a maintenance employee in the hallway who explained it is a central system, and he fixed it within an hour. It felt like the desk team were new and simply did not know how things worked in the building. Later, we paid for a late checkout at a fair price. I clearly explained that we planned to ski all day and leave in the evening, and I asked if we could use the spa later in the day and store our luggage, which is standard in most hotels and residences. I was told very bluntly that we had to be fully out by 13:00 and that there was no place for luggage. Only after insisting did the manager come, and she handled it professionally and found a solution right away. On checkout day, the cleaning team came into our apartment at around 12:15 and started moving things, even though we were still there. It made us uncomfortable and we left within minutes. When we returned the key, a front desk clerk demanded we move our car in a very unpleasant way. Parking is difficult in the area, so moving it meant paying else
Westayed this residence for a week. It was perfect. The apartment is very nice. Everything you can find you need and spa and pool was perfect .to reach the slopes is very easy. There is a bus station in front of the hotel as a result It was good experiment thank you for all staffs|They were so helpfull
Some of the rooms in apartments are good, some are not, you can get a room with no openable window for example, which at this price point is worst deal ever. Wifi isnt working most of the time, terrible service which is not allowing you to work or stream movies freely. Cannot take off your clothes in the sauna(!), first time I see this globally where towel on you is not enough and you need go shower in swim shorts after you exit sauna, crazy.
Absolutely unacceptable experience. I strongly advise avoiding these apartments, especially considering they are advertised as 5-star accommodation. Several rooms have no proper ventilation at all. In fact, there are at least three bedrooms where the windows cannot be opened because they are roof windows, leaving the rooms completely sealed with no way to get fresh air inside. One of these rooms smells rotten, and without ventilation, it is simply unbearable to stay there. The bathroom situation is even worse. The shower does not drain properly, which causes a constant sewage smell. The odor is so strong that it spreads and makes the entire apartment extremely unpleasant. On top of that, the apartment is supposed to accommodate up to 12 people but only has two bathrooms, which is completely insufficient and poorly planned. For apartments that claim to be 5-star, this is absolutely unacceptable. The condition, hygiene, and basic comfort standards are far below what should be expected at this level. Overall, this place is in very poor condition, badly maintained, and not suitable for the number of guests it advertises. Definitely not worth the money.
We didn’t have unrealistic expectations, considering the price and previous experiences with French hotels in this price range, but we can not forgive that they put screws in the radiators, to prevent the temperature regulation. Outside temperature was -16, and radiators were constantly cold. Every day we had to go to reception and beg them to increase the temperature in our room, which they did with 1 click in their computer.
We went on a family trip with 7 adults, 2 toddlers and 2 babies. We booked a 4 double bedroom apartment at around 8000EUR. The apartment was far to small. First it only had 2 x two-seater sofas, so we couldn't all sit down at once. The floor size of the kitchen, lounge was little over 5m x 3m. We tried to speak with the staff and they told us all rooms were the same size, which we know was disingenuous as we visited our neighbours apartment, which had twice the living area. Furthermore, we chose our apartment based on a series of nice photos and the apartment was sold dishonestly. It's was so cramped and honestly ruined our trip. To make matters worse, we were the top, end apartment so all the bedrooms were in the attic, so all the beds were under sloped ceilings, this meant the room was barely useable. We have stayed at CGH about 6/7 times and they are normally good enough. This was the worst of any CGH we have been too and the fact we were rudely handled, we wont be back, without major compensation. It's just not worth the money. Lost a customer for life here. Poor show!
Le Telemark was a great base for our ski trip 6th-13th April 24. Ski in and out although ski in was a bit trickier but not to bad. Room was spacious and clean needs a sink in the main toilet to wash hands though and the ensuite bedroom would also benefit a toilet. Balcony was spacious beds were comfy and plenty of hot water for the showers which was great. The lounge kitchen dining room was fairly speacious too giving 5 adult friends plenty of room. We were room 8 which is 1st floor was 20 yards from the ski out door so we were all happy. The spa was nice saunas pool and jacuzzi was welcome after skiing several hours was also very clean and easy to access. Staff were polite and helpful if needed. The deposit was taken from my card but reimbursed a few days after returning home and making sure the room was like we found it. I would return to this hotel if i returned back to Tignes without a doubt. Thanks Le Telemark :)
Disgusting service.||Filthy rooms with cracked floor tiles, rude staff, lift didn't work properly so we had to use the stairs each time. The stairs corridor was dirty. ||Ski in/ski out was misleading. You have to exit the building, walk down the stairs and across a parking lot to climb up an icy path to eventually ski out.||Ski in is even more dangerous, narrow path and we had to walk it down each time with our daughter as not to be injured.||We didn't bother with WiFi as it kept cutting out.||When we tried to pay this 'local tax' on the night before we left, there were two staff members behind the desk doing nothing. They refused to help as they had 'finished their shift'. We have now been sent an email for the 60e we owe them for the above payment. ||There was no information about what to do with the keys when we left.||This year, we paid well above our usual spend for our half term ski break and it was not worth it. We expected the luxury we saw on the website photos, but the rooms were nothing as photographed. The lounge and spa photos seemed accurate, oddily enough.||There are no close amenities, you have to walk up the hill to get to the nearest shop.||I would have given zero stars to this joke of a stay, if allowed to. The one star goes out to the chalet manager who was friendly, and the spa was nice.||For your stay, please do not waste your money here. Look for places in Val Claret or Le Lavachet which have lovely restaurants, bars and shops nearby and are all accessible to the main centre with a free shuttle bus.
