Unacceptable handling of security deposit and guest treatment We stayed at Manali Lodge in Courchevel 1650 from 25–28 January (3 nights). The stay cost €7,000, yet the hotel required a €4,000 security deposit, which already felt excessive. I paid it in good faith. After checkout on 28 January, the property was left in good condition and no damages were mentioned. As of 31 January, my deposit had still not been released. When I followed up, I was told they were “still checking with housekeeping,” days after checkout, with no written report, no explanation, and no timeline. This is completely unacceptable and highly unprofessional. On top of this, during our stay the hotel paid €100 for a transfer in the middle of the night due to a special situation when we were not at the hotel. Despite already holding €4,000 of our money, management made a big issue over this amount and insisted that we immediately come down to reception to pay it on the spot, instead of simply deducting it from the deposit or handling it reasonably. Until we got back to the hotel. This behavior shows a lack of professionalism, poor guest handling, and questionable financial practices. I would strongly advise future guests to be extremely cautious regarding deposits, additional charges, and how payments are managed. Transparency and prompt refunds are essential in hospitality—unfortunately, that was not my experience here.
We had a great experience at Manali Lodge. The location is unbeatable and the rooms (we stayed in Kangto) were perfect for the family. Rooms were cleaned daily and to a very good standard.|The hotel staff were all very friendly and |Oliver on reception was always very helpful.|Sebastian and Sylvain in the ski room were fantastic and so nice to the children. |We would happily return again next year!

The positives: The location is excellent (ski-in/ski-out, close to shops, etc.), nice views, the staff are affable and generally try to help and our unit was spacious.||The negatives: |This is not luxury five-star experience. Management oversight of staff and their guest engagement seem non-existent. Overall, staff appear poorly trained. The remodeling of the development from a hotel into apartments was clearly done on an excessively tight budget, with many design and quality corners cut. The rooms have no AC or mechanical ventilation; we requested additional humidifiers, but the hotel ran out, and the ones eventually provided were tiny and ineffective for the room sizes.|The restaurant food is decidedly average and the kitchen unable to cope with the number of orders efficiently; the menu never changes—not even a dish of the day is offered—and the breakfast buffet is particularly disappointing. |The toiletries and bedding are cheap and generic - like a 3* hotel at best. Despite our unit having 3.5 bathrooms, there was no bathtub. ||I would not rush back.
Manali_Lodge = Airbnb, period. It's shockingly odd that guests are expected to tidy up their own trash bins, and to buy their own supplies from supermarkets nearby because the hotel constantly runs out of basic things. Go to the newest reviews. Accounts with the “Local Guide” label give 5 ⭐️(the orange badge), but regular accounts leave extremely bad reviews. I'll leave the rest to you if you're reading.
Worst possible option to stay in Courchevel. The staff is rude and exceptionally discourteous. Cleaning is not properly carried out, and the hotel rooms, along with the furniture, are in a state of disrepair. The staff at the restaurant on the 3rd floor frequently forgets orders. As icing on the cake, the hotel has unusual check-in and check-out times.
Very nice place, good location in Courchevel 1650, has an electric charger for the car, and the staff found a solution to any question we had
Excellent ski-in and ski-out hotel, with a perfect ski room and service. I highly recommend it and would return again! The slopes are friendly for beginner to intermediate level skiers.
