The campus feels quite average overall. The infrastructure is functional but not particularly modern or impressive compared to larger universities in the region. Personally, the atmosphere felt a bit strange in a negative way, not very dynamic or inspiring. It may depend on the department, but the general vibe did not feel as strong or structured as other institutions.

I went to this university for a conference on the invention of traditions in Victorian Britain. The existence of such a conference indicates, I believe, the truly international and cosmopolitan ambitions of this University, which I respect. The university is rather small and modest, which is perhaps to be expected considering that it was only founded in 1975. Admittedly, there is a bit of disorganisation in the building styles, and the only factor that unites them architecturally is their postmodern experimentation. I particularly like the science building, with its geometric forms and unconventional contours that make it look like a bizarre alien spaceship. Ginkgo trees line the pathways of the campus, and in autumn they erupt into a volcanic burst of gold.

Library open to public, Eduroam available. Very small library, not very quiet there, eating and drinking only allowed outside the building.

Disappointed by the outdated educational system.

Bonne université avec de nombreuses formations disponibles

Bonne université, ambiance familiale. Beaucoup de formations professionnalisantes (IUT et écoles) avec un boulot au bout. Le campus principal de l'Illberg est très agréable (de la verdure), bien desservi par le tram avec de belles installations sportives tout à côté.
