Recently reopened after a thorough upgrade. Bedrooms and bathrooms are of an exceptionally high standard in every respect. At the level of the very finest boutique hotels in Europe. The welcome and assistance is excellent. The owner, Richard, is a noted stalwart of the wine trade who adds to the bonhomie. For those who prefer discreet luxury to big hotel bling.

We booked this property on VRBO months before our arrival on May 1. Received confirmation that booking was good and payment was taken. Unfortunately, upon arrival (after a very long travel day), there was no one to let us into the property and we were unable to get ahold of the hosts. VRBO was also unable to contact the hosts so we were refunded our money but were left scrambling at 9 pm to find alternative accommodations which came at a much steeper cost.

Le Clos d'Emile is a truly luxurious Guest House in Bordeaux, and is without doubt one of the best we’ve ever experienced. From the moment we arrived, the welcome was exceptional. The rooms were elegant and refined "dignes d’un hôtel 5★" and the overall experience offered outstanding value for money.|Richard, the owner, was the perfect host throughout our stay. A detail that perfectly sums up the experience: we crossed paths with him on our arrival, cycling back from the local cheese shop with fresh cheeses for the breakfast buffet. It’s those thoughtful, personal touches that make all the difference.|Nothing was ever too much trouble, and my only regret is that we stayed for just one night. This will without hesitation be my hotel of choice for both business and leisure trips to Bordeaux.|Thank you, Richard, for making our short stay so pleasant and comfortable - and for kindly lending us your wonderful office to work from on the morning of our departure.|Chambres5,0Service5,0Emplacement5,0|Points forts de l'hôtel Luxueux · Romantique · Calme · Bon rapport qualité-prix · |Pure luxury and comfort · large bed · quality soft furnishings... I could go on and on, but just look at the photos, as it is as true to the photos as you can get. The bathroom was also a pleasure to discover, and... I love the fact that we had a lovely Nespresso machine in the room too 😃

This is a very tasteful boutique hotel. Small but perfectly formed. We were greeted with charm and help and the room and facilities were elegant and airy. The location is good for the centre of town and very quiet. We were there only overnight but would love to return for a longer stay. Bordeaux is an interesting and varied town. This is a great base for exploration. Breakfast in their beautiful dining room was good too and the people looking after us were immenely helpful.

Absolutely loved our stay at Le Clos d'Emile. If you like a luxury stay but don't want to stay in a big soulless hotel, this is the coolest kind of boutique hotel... a unique sense of personality, lovely warm welcome, staff can't do enough to help you with great local recommendations and genuinely want you to have a great time. And the rooms are SO comfortable.||The hotel is on a little quiet street next to a lovely park and the interiors are very cool. ||The rooms are so beautiful and the beds are enormous. The only improvement would be a more powerful shower, which are a bit old school and you have to jump about in to get wet.||Breakfast was perfect French continental style, and there is a lovely garden at the back of the hotel. Every night the staff lay out cheese and wine in the lounge for you to enjoy and there was also a nice bar selection left out. ||Would definitely come back!

Thank you for a beautiful stay. The hotel and welcome made our trip in Bordeaux just perfect. ||The rooms are spacious and delightful, beautiful bathrooms and great French breakfast. ||Margot, the hotel Manager, made our stay easy and gave us some great restaurant recommendations just a walk away from the very central position of the hotel (next to the beautiful parc "jardin public").||Thanks again and we look forward to coming back.

After many years of visiting Bordeaux this is by far the best b&b we have ever stayed in. It’s elegant, stylish beautifully decorated rooms are a delight. But then everything in Clos d’Emile is done with tremendous thought and care. Guests come first. |Big rooms, comfy beds and sparkling bathrooms. Lots of careful thought and planning has gone into this very small (5 bedroom) hotel. Unlike larger competitors with their impersonal stack of sleeping rooms. |Quietly positioned overlooking Bordeaux’s most central garden, I suspect it gets very booked up April-September. |If I could give it 6 stars I would.
