We arrived late and tired and at first look i thought the room a bit shabby and everything was rather worn. But after 2 nights it grew on me a lot. Very clean and ideal for catching an early train or tram. The personnel were friendly and helpful. They gave us a spacious family room for the price of a twin 70€/night. I think you’d have trouble matching that in Bordeaux. Our room had huge windows, a lovely ornate balcony and plentiful hot water. They still use old fashioned cotton sheets and wool blankets instead of duvets which i haven’t seen in a while. The towels could seriously use an upgrade but apart from that fine.

Perfect! Right opposite the train station and bus stop for airport meaning a trip without a car was smooth. I see a few comments about the rooms and it wasn’t the Marriot in terms of room standard but it was local and authentic. Spotlessly clean, everything in the room worked , it was comfortable and the right temperature. The breakfast was  very good and well worth the small cost. The staff were so very helpful and gave advice about a day trip to the Dune du Pilat and how to walk to the restaurant area in the city centre and gave me a city map. Highly recommended, don’t hesitate to stay. They also offered me a left luggage facility while I went out for the day after checking out. Note that the railway station is very large. Depending which door you come out of it’s to left of the centre of the station as you come out. Just a few meters from the station. Perfect!

Not like the photos – felt unhygienic and poor qualityI booked this hotel because it looked decent on the booking site, but the reality was very different. The room I got had only a tiny window, and it smelled like an old, damp house. The overall feel was just outdated and poorly maintained. What bothered me the most was how unhygienic it felt. The towel looked old and worn out, even though it smelled okay. There was hair on the blanket, and there wasn’t even a proper duvet—just a thin, old blanket with a single cover that didn’t even fully wrap around it. It honestly made me uncomfortable staying there. The one good thing was the staff—they were very friendly and helpful. And yes, the location is right next to the train station, but there are other hotels nearby for a similar price. In short, the room did not match the photos at all, and the cleanliness and quality were way below what I expected.

A very enjoyable stay while discovering Bordeaux for a few days. Fantastic service from Christophe, who recommended places to dine and was sympathetic to the recent extreme weather disrupting our onward travel by train. On that point, the hotel could not be situated more perfectly for easy access to the train station - but not at the cost of a noisy room, which was in fact beautifully quiet at night. Would absolutely stay there again in the future.

This unassuming hotel at a very convenient location right opposite the train station has been a delight to stay in. The building itself is a lovely piece of 19th Century architecture that despite renovations has retained many of its original features. At two stars its amenities are fairly basic, but our small and basic-looking room was very clean and concealed a big, comfortable bed with memory foam mattress, and very effective air conditioning (essential during our stay when temperatures hit 34c. It also has a heating function for winter). We took the room with the spa bath --very nice. You get all-in-one body wash/shampoo from a wall pump and catering grade toilet roll, but nice, thick towels. Our wall hung toilet was mounted weirdly high up the wall and the hand shower wall hook was mounted weirdly low above the bath, but otherwise we had no complaints. TV reception was a bit flaky. The room was at the back of the building, so very quiet despite being on a very busy square in front of the train station. Black-out curtains keep the room dark at night. Staff were friendly and helpful. We enjoyed our stay here and will certainly return.

Nothing much to complain for the price we paid. We are given room on the ground floor so opening the window is not convenient as pedestrian are basically walking on the street outside the window. Cannot open window and air-cond not working. It can be warm and quite stuffy.

My wife and I stayed for just one night but it was ideal. Friendly, helpful staff and a nice room. Breakfast was good value too. We would definitely use the hotel again. John
