Good location and great pool, but dirty apartment. Basic apartment with one double bed and two single beds. The apartment is generally dirty, including the walls. Cobwebs hanging from the ceiling. The bathroom faucet is loose and the shower holder is broken. The wash towel was missing and it only came with one toilet roll.
Residence is a mix of private and Vacanceole operated. As a guest with Vacanceole you will be in a scruffy, run down house with no aircon, dirty throughout and lacking in basics such as crockery and bed linen for which you pay extortionate fees. The grounds are well kept as is the swimming pool area. It's supposed to be 3 star, but is actually a low 2 star. Evenings are blighted by loud groups sitting on the terraces, dog excretion everywhere which is apparently accepted by the French. Security is non existent and cars are regularly broken into overnight. No staff to be seen and the cleaners are blessed with a very light touch !
Great location for visiting the area by car or bike; substantial & refreshing pool for a hot day; super plantings of provencal flowers and grasses on the site; the sound of the wind in the cedars at the edge of the site was magical. We weren't on a cycling break but I imagine it would be perfect for that. Some refreshment of fixtures/fitting would improve the score further.
we had a very good vacation. The house needs a refresh. The swimming pool is excellent. You can make nice trips
Very low quality. Beds were OK. Parking and location are OK. |Personel is... not there or not usefull.|The swimming pool was large, but way too cold. |Breakfast is a total disaster. Don't take it... the bar is present, but no personel. No atmosfere. 0 animation. |Idiotic swimming pool rules. Most of the furniture is worn out... |Its only good if you need a place to sleep... but the park itself is not to be recommended!
We booked this for an 8 strong cycling trip. 4 x 2 bedroom appts. Bedrooms & bathroom upstairs, open plan lounge/kitchen + toilet downstairs.||Price was unbeatable despite the fact we all got our own bedroom. Bedrooms were 1 x double bed room & 1 x twin bed room so we could have made it even more economical.||Each appt had their own 'terrace' from which Ventoux could be seen. This was great as allowed us all to meet up for b/fast & evening drinks. We also got given 4 adjoining appts next to each other which made meeting up v easy. Bedding & Towels were supplied. However, as these are appts, its down to you to keep them tidy!!||About 2 mins drive to supermarket or 10 mins walk to bakery. ||||Approx 10 miles from Bedoin for Mont Ventoux. We rode from this base to all 3 routes up ventoux without any problems. No problem getting/keeping bikes inside at night.||||All people we encountered in the region were really friendly & helpful & the vast majority could speak some English.||I think the biggest downside/surprise was trying to find reasonable restaurants to eat in the evening. Carpentras is quite a large town, but the only thing we could find was an Italian.. We ended up with take away pizzas a bit more than we would have liked, so worth doing some research for evening meals.. Lunchtimes really not a problem on Ventoux or in towns at start of rides up.
We own a property here, however parking is a problem since the operators stopped people from parking and off loading near to the property they have rented, people who take dogs there are irresponsible as they don't clear up the dog mess! In addition there is disgruntal amongst other house owners , and a dictatorship in the form of Opeleo and Vacanceole
My wife and I are both retired and were looking for a break in the sun to get away from the September blues in UK. We like to travel and use our car if possible so the two day travel time to this venue was not a problem. The price was good, the reviews were good so we booked.||The "Village" is located on the outskirts of the town on a hill. Upon arrival it was obvious that the whole of the complex was securely surrounded by high fencing and the entrance was a rather imposing pair of high electrically operated gates. A little intimidating. Once inside we were greeted by a very nice young lady at reception who gave us the usual paperwork, TV controller and bed linen, explaining, with the use of a map where our house was. Also we were told that most of the complex is a vehicle free zone except for a small period over the weekend during changeover days. We arrived mid week!. The first thing we found was that the property we were allocated was quite a way in to the complex and there were "Barriers" that did not allow us to take our vehicle to the property. So we had to carry all our bags, suitcases etc across gravel paths to our door. ||||We were allocated a property which was very clean, spacious, stairs to upper toilet and 1 bedroom. Bathroom was on the lower level along with the kitchen/lounge diner. No sink in the toilet so one had to make a trip downstairs to the bathroom to wash hands.||First thing needed was a good cup of tea. After all we are English. No teapot! No kettle! Long story short it took us two days to finally get an electric kettle. (The receptionist lent us hers). Apparently they don't do kettles!||The property was very clean and minimal but adequate. everything was painted grey! The fact that there was not one window anywhere made it a little dismal inside. Worth insisting on an end property that have many windows if you get claustrophobic. The only ventilation was a roof light located very, very high in the bedroom. Only accessible with a long pole
