La Maison Rouge is definitely not the worst hotel I’ve stayed at, but it did miss the mark in a few key areas. Room Quality: The room felt tired and in need of a refresh. A new coat of paint would go a long way, and unfortunately, there was a very unpleasant damp smell when we first arrived. Thankfully, after airing it out for about an hour, it became more bearable. Breakfast: At £70 for a family of four, the breakfast was extremely overpriced. The selection was limited, and the hot food options were disappointing—just fatty bacon and eggs that weren’t particularly appetizing. For that price, I expected a much more generous and varied spread. Positives: The staff were friendly and welcoming. Great location, convenient for exploring the area. Tesla car charging available, which is a big plus. Plenty of parking on-site. Overall: La Maison Rouge has potential, especially with its location and amenities, but it needs some attention to detail—particularly in room upkeep and breakfast value—to truly deliver a great experience.

2 weeks into our European trip we stayed here and it was the best accommodation to date. The staff were exceptionally welcoming. The rooms AC worked perfectly (it was 35° outside) We ate in the restaurant 2 nights, all 4 of us had different dishes each night and it was 100% The town of Chambery only 5 minutes away by car and well worth a stroll through. This is a place we will save and return to. Mainly because the staff and its amazing location

Attention to detail is top. Hard to fault. Super friendly staff, delicious food( especially the bread and croissants etc), freshly cut fruit salad, amazing prepared fine takeaway lunches. Very good value clear rooms. Must be family run?

Third visit and always great service, clean and quiet in a good location with great breakfast.

Liked · Just off the main road so if you're looking for an overnight stop it's perfect. About 10 min drive into Chambery for dinner or shopping too. We had a large room, I think it was a family room as last minute booking. Very comfy and clean. Had a last minute booking in the spa and it was empty so floated about in the enormous jacuzzi for an hour by myself. Then had a lovely facial with good quality products. Breakfast there was a buffet in a nice quiet room good choice - the basics but fresh and tasty. Outside tables in the bar area in the sunshine too. I will be back when in the area. Disliked · These are not intended as criticisms just things to be aware of. Could hear the traffic from the room but it was just a constant hum. Restaurant gets full up with conferences but there were bar snacks and room service, town isn't far and you can always order an ubereat.

Good place for travellers, especially for charging Tesla car 🚗

Rooms are large and clean but quite basic. Beds are comfortable. The restaurant is excellent although booking is recommended as it gets quite busy. Breakfast is buffet style with plenty of choice of food and drink. There is a spa and gym, but I didn't use these. Situated out of town but close to major routes.

The food in the restaurant is wonderful. You wont go hungry here. Hearty portions are delivered with style. The rooms in the lower portion of the hotel are spacious but basic. My biggest bug bear was the lack of tea / coffee facilities in the room. A tv with a few english channels and free wifi add to the a plus to your overnight stay.
