Delightful little restaurant, adorned with flowers and plants, located in the corner of a charming square, with quirky and original menu and wonderful service

Had lunch here at this cosy and beautifully located spot near the bay. The gentleman serving us was friendly but seemed a bit restrictive, as he forebode us to eat fries because of the heat. We decided on being served something he advised from the menu. A real downer was the cash only at the end. Ended up paying with PayPal as I had no cash on me.

Very special place. Great food, amazing location and friendly staff. Only concern is that they don't take credit cards and don't have free WIFI to help support other ways of paying for the meal.

A hidden gem. Lush decor and terrace seating at a quaint town square. Great selection of wine.

We were staying next to Les Beaux Arts and had dinner on Saturday night with our family of 5. The waiter seemed nice and the food was delicious. It was a bit of a strange experience though. We were seated underneath the platane tree, next to the fountain. The tree had hundreds of birds in it. Unfortunately a bird dropped something in my hair. I went inside to clean up and showed the waiter. He looked at me and said he didn’t see it. And then it happened twice more. And also on my plate, next to my plate. Then in my sons neck, on his plate, in his hair etc. On my daughters arm. And the worst bit: I accidentally drank from the water that a bird just shat in. (I can imagine this sounds really funny, but I can still taste it 🤮😂). So the rest of the family went home after that and I went inside to show the waiter the water with the leftover diluted birdshit and told him how I just drank from it. He looked non-plussed, poured me a new glass of water and asked me if we wanted dessert. I said no thank you and just paid the bill and left. But I was very surprised at their reaction. I have worked many years in hospitality and I would have responded very differently. The least he could’ve done is show some empathy or an apology. It literally left a bad taste in my mouth. What’s even worse: the next evening I looked at the terrace from the rooftop of our house and I saw the same thing happening to another table. They moved their table in disgust and started cleaning the birdshit from their heads and shoulders. So it was no incident. It really is a shame. The ambiance is amazing, the food was good, but service like this ruins everything. If you do decide to eat here: ask for a table far from the tree.

The town between Narbonne and Perpignan. Lovers of southern French cuisine will find a gem here. The dishes are written by hand in chalk on the slate. And the host himself explains each dish and its origin. The same goes for the wine selection. For us, a visit to this restaurant is a must. At the moment you can only pay in cash and there are no cash machines in Bages!

we were quite late for lunch at 14.15h, but the very friendly waiter offered us a table in the shade on their sunny terrace..while other restaurants had already closed their kitchen. he was super kind! unfortunately the food experience was the worst in many many years however, i'm sorry to say. we ordered four starters, of which two with fish/gambas that did not seem fresh at all. all four plates were small in portion and hiding under a hand full of rocket salad, each one completely overloaded with (the same) three cheap mayonaise type sauces... it was really disgusting. the deserts on other tables looked disgusting and cheap, so we decided to stay on the safe side, ordered a coffee and left. we feel it was a total rip off, with regards to the high price. in short: super friendly waiter, but horrible cook. Bages itself is beautiful and so is the square on which the restaurant is located..
