Although this dessert is actually more of my spouse’s interest than mine, I ended up liking it as well. We bought a small tasting portion and were very satisfied. We also noticed that the staff member seemed quite tired we hope they are doing better now.
Without exaggeration, this was the lightest, most delicate, and most delicious pastry I’ve ever tried. And when I say pastry, I don’t mean just cheesecake, I mean, in general, among all the sweets I’ve had throughout my life, this was truly my favorite taste experience. The sweetness is perfectly balanced; it doesn’t feel heavy or greasy at all.
We tried the framboise cheesecake. Unfortunately they only had the larger one. I think I like the classic more than this one. The person who was at the counter wasn't the friendliest in the world 😅
LOVED IT. The sesame noir flan is the best thing ever. We also tried the chocolate flan, vanilla cheesecake and chocolate cheese-tart which were super good.
My friend bought the original cheesecake from TAKUMI last week, and that was actually my very first time trying Takumi Cheesecake. I was really surprised at how soft, airy, and light it was compared to regular cheesecakes—it almost melted in my mouth! I enjoyed it so much that I decided to buy it again, but this time I tried the yuzu cheesecake. The flavor was absolutely delightful—the refreshing citrus aroma of yuzu balanced perfectly with the creamy cheesecake, giving it a unique taste that was both rich and refreshing. I’m already looking forward to trying more flavors next time. They also have matcha and framboise cheesecake.
I first experienced Japanese Cheesecake at Rikoru in Osaka; this one is very close to the one we had there. Maybe a bit blander. But the texture is there and this is also why we liked it.
We went to Paris for a few days and accidentally saw Japanese cheesecake on place and on last day before leaving we took two - Original and Yuzu. We loved them. We will be definitely going back to Takumi while visiting Paris!!
I had other Japanese cheesecakes but it was never that good. First when you go inside you feel the Japanese know-how and sharpness. They widened their range to include other desserts such as Mont-blanc but I decided not to divert from tasting their original cheesecake and boy was I not disappointed. Fluffy, tasty, not too sweet, it was worth every bite and the portion is really big. Would eat it in 4 times probably. An absolute Japanese delight !
