Took a lot of finding, but great when we finally got there. You have to be able bodied to cope with the walking.
If you have ever been to St Fagans, you will like it here. It's not as big, but there are more demonstrations. The staff are friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. It's such an interesting place to visit and give a easily digestible insight into rural french life. It's definitely worth a visit if you like history.
Visiting this village that lives in a traditional manner was very interesting. There are really interesting presentations on how people lived centuries ago. The landscapes and scenery is idyllic. It was a nice reminder to me how lucky we are to live with modern comforts. And to understand how we got to where we are today. The village is very nice. Some of the sessions are overcrowded so you probably want to go early. Also, tall people should watch their heads when passing under the short doorways! My companion got taken by surprise. Luckily there was no blood but a lot of pain! Great place for kids and families.
This is a great, immersive experience of a Breton village. Well kept with authentic buildings and characters demonstrating and describing village life from rope making, through wood turning and crepe making to Breton clothing . There is a simple farm, and a chance to play some Breton games The restaurant/cafe restricts itself to simple, home made Breton dishes at reasonable prices (inc GF options)... A nice change from nuggets and chips! So why only 4*- well it is almost exclusively in French. There is an English cheat sheet but it is limited, and the characters stick to an expansive script... But only in French. I feel we could have learned so much more? The addition of wifi to the locality would open up so much more via Google translate.
We had a good time. The buildings and people in costume were great. We had fun playing the Old Breton games. The only issue we had was the lack of food available.
Wonderful experience with a nice village reconstitution, great activities and very welcoming staff.
Great experience of how small hamlets were, with demonstrations of hemp rope making and candle making. Some of the outside exhibits were a bit tired at the end of the season, but overall well worth a visit.
Very interesting. Lots to see, was really busy so we skipped some of the demonstrations.
