The service and care were very poor. When we arrived we weren't made aware of all the codes needed for the doors. After waiting outside in the cold we finally worked it out through other residents. ||You have to clean everything in the kitchen before you leave and empty the bins. We spent a long time doing this but left a few crumbs in the oven. When we left at 5am in the morning reception was closed, there was no where to leave the keys so we left them in the room. I think this upset the hotel and the combination of crumbs and keys meant they kept €50 of my deposit. I have called multiple times and they told me the manager would call back which they didn't. I have asked them multiple times what I should have done with the keys, no response. A terrible end to what should have been a nice holiday. This is an expensive hotel, the information and service should be better.
Zoiets: In January, we booked our holiday with two friends and their daughter at an MGM Hotels property. We chose a beautiful "Prestige" apartment, as it was advertised. Upon arrival, the apartment was indeed clean and well-presented. We were very much looking forward to our stay. However, the situation changed in the evening. We discovered that our apartment was located directly beneath the restaurant. We could hear every sound—guests, chairs, staff talking, and even parties. By the third night, the music was still extremely loud at 11 PM, so we went to investigate. We saw people partying and even urinating outside the restaurant. We attempted to raise our concerns with the restaurant manager, who came to speak with us after a while. Unfortunately, he did not take our complaint seriously and told us we were overreacting. Frustrated and upset, we returned to our apartment, where the noise finally stopped after 1:30 AM. The following day, we spoke with the front desk, and it became clear we were not the only guests experiencing these issues. The receptionist acknowledged our concerns and tried to help, but there were no alternative apartments available. As compensation, she offered us a 10% discount on a future stay. However, we were not looking to rebook—we simply wanted a peaceful holiday. She advised us to email the hotel manager, which we did, but again, the responses were slow and unhelpful. Eventually, we were offered a 15% discount on a future booking, which we found unsatisfactory. It is disappointing that management did not take our concerns seriously. The hotel itself has great potential and is beautifully maintained, but this experience left a negative impression—especially considering we paid extra for a “Prestige” apartment. Unfortunately, this experience has led us to decide that we will not be staying at MGM Hotels again.
Amazing place to stay. This is our third year in a row staying here. Favourite things about it are that it's right opposite the ski slopes. And, Netski, where we hire our ski equipment is essentially on the bottom floor of the building and there are a few lovely restaurants right around it where you can have amazing French food. And if you want to talk to ESF, the school of skiing, they are right along next to the building. Can't recommend a better place. The only sad thing is that this year there appears to be less snow than there was in the previous two years. So next season, if we ski early in December, we'll probably go to a location that's higher up in the mountains. But because we love the MGM brand, we will likely choose one of the locations where they have aparthotels. A couple of recommendations. While the kitchen has most equipment, it would benefit from: a sieve, spatula, food scales, potato masher and I’d have salt and pepper as standard. This is a small niggle though, the place is good value for money outside the main ski season.
Don't expect good sleep. We had one of the prestige apartments, which looked great when we arrived. During the evening we found out that it was located just underneath a restaurant that was part of the same building, but not part of the hotel. We could hear al kinds of kitchen noises throughout the night, but midweeks it got worse. There was a big party in the restaurant and you could hear people yelling and stamping on the ground. At 11 I went out complaining but the restaurant manager said that there was no issue and that I should not complain. No empathy or what so ever, he didn't care about the fact that we couldn't sleep. Also, reception was not reachable so I basically couldn't do anything. Around 1:30 it finally got quite, but by my baby's night rithm was already destructed by then. The day after we adressed the issue at the reception. They felt sorry for us, but after having conversations about our complaint, we learned that this was known for years but that management and the restaurant management couldn't come to an agreement on how to solve the issue. We couldn't move to another apartment because the Le Roc was fully booked, so we just had to sit it out. After effort from our side and the reception management finally tried to offer us something for our inconvenience. They offered us a discount on our next booking. This is not how you thread people that just had a couple of ruined nights. At minimum they should give a refund on the night we couldn't sleep at all.
The apartment was excellent well furnished and equipped the apartments are clean and in a good position close to the ski runs. Nice swimming pool and sauna. Staff were friendly and helpful, we arrived earlier than expected and were allowed early access to the apartment which after a 20 hour drive we were very grateful for
We went to Le Roc Des Tours for the UK half term break (Feb 2020). The hotel is lovely, fantastically located and the staff are great. ||We opted for this resort due to it's short transfer time from Geneva (1 1/4 hours). we arrived late but had a number to call on arrival and all was well.||The rooms are beautiful, we only opted for a 1 bedroom complex for 4 of us, (2 adults 2 kids) and this was fine for the week. The kitchens are well supplied with good quality appliances.||There are dressing gowns, slippers, towels all supplied. Beds are really comfy and the rooms are underfloor heated. Kids had the fold out sofa bed in the lounge which was a good size and also comfy too.||The hotels` location is perfect, ski lifts outside the lower level and the main town just outside upper the reception. Sherpa supermarket is 3 mins walk from the hotel, lots of good restaurants and little bars all within easy reach.||Facilities at the hotel are fantastic, free spa stuff, (pool, Hamman, and sauna), are all a good size and really clean and well looked after. Fast and efficient lift and beautiful views down the valley.||Good size, clean and safe storage room for skis, snowboards and boots which is heated too.||Overall a great family location, hotel is lovely surprise and the village is beautiful.
We had our family ski break in January 2017 for the first time in Le Grand Bornand. The Roc des Tours is a brand new resort (opened in December 2016) and we believe we were the first tenants in the apartment we rented. We rented a three-bedroom apartment and were fully satisfied. The apartment (B10) had three double rooms and two bathrooms, two TVs and free wifi everywhere. Towels and bed linen are provided. The apartment is really well equipped (even has a wine cellar in the kitchen). The balcony overlooks the ski slopes and you get full sun and light all day long.|With regards to the amenities, there is also a laundry room with dryer and washing machine in the building if needed (we did not need to use it and it was just installed during our stay). The wellness area with the pool, sauna, steam room, jacuzzi and gym is really pleasant and very clean. However the pool could do with a few extra degrees (sometimes a bit cold). Bathrobes and towels are also available free of charge at reception. Staff is extremely friendly and offers great service, you can pick up your fresh baguette in the morning at reception instead of going all the way to the Boulangerie. You can also borrow raclette/fondue machines at reception and DVD players (this is the only regret we have since we wanted to use a DVD player for our 4 year old daughter) but they had not yet received the DVD players but this is a detail. Cleaning is done once a week and they change your towels if you stay for a week.|With regards to the location, well if you go skiing, this is ideal and you will not need your car at all. The ski lift is only 30 meters away and there is a ski room in the residence with ski boots heating racks and if you miss anything or need to rent skis, there is a ski sport shop in the residence on the ground floor so not a problem at all.|To park your car, there is no garage but plenty of free car park right in front of the residence.|One doubt I have though is about the lifts within the resid
We had a lovely stay here, Rooms were a good size, cleanandwell equipped. Staff helpful and friendly. It wasn't quite ski in and out 's advertised but the lift was only across the road. We enjoyedthe steam roomand jacuzzi at the end of the day. Only minus was both my partner and I struggled to find the bed pillows comfortable.
