Best libanais expérience, the menu is smaller then their neighbors but the taste is definitely here
The food at Falafel is truly authentic Lebanese, and every bite reflects the love and tradition put into its preparation. The owner, Jacques (I hope I’m writing his French name right. His real name is Abdul Alim), is the loveliest person we’ve ever met. He is witty, funny, and took the time to explain each dish to us in detail. Everything we had was absolutely delightful and delicious, making it the best Lebanese food we have ever had in Europe! The dishes were 1000% homemade, and you can taste the difference. Every food item was a highlight; we cannot choose just one. We loved every bite! Each dish was seasoned perfectly, with nothing too sweet or too salty. We noticed that the style of the meal is tapas-style, with everything served in small portions, perfect for sharing. Jacques embodies true Middle Eastern hospitality. We came as strangers and left feeling like family. He speaks French, Arabic, and English fluently, which made it very easy for us to converse and feel at home. Despite arriving late as a group of 11, well after their 2 PM closing time, Jacques welcomed us with open arms. We were the only ones dining at that time, and the experience felt like visiting a relative’s home. After our meal, we took some pictures outside the restaurant with Jacques, and noticed that several local passersby stopped to greet and chat with him. It’s clear that Falafel is not just a restaurant but a beloved part of the community. Thank you so much, Jacques. You truly made our visit to Rennes memorable. We will definitely spread the word about this amazing restaurant and will be coming back if we ever visit Rennes again!!
Very nice hospitality from the management and really wonderful Lebanese food. Excellent recommendation and the staff speak english too.
Good food, this is the real deal. Owner is a funny guy, has loads of wit and sharp retorts at the ready. He is very agitated, almost like a Lebanese Louis De Funès without the ticks or slapstick. But he adds to the charm of the place — located in a quiet street — which is literally plastered with all sorts of notes. Really a unique little restaurant.
The food is delicious. The setting and the serving dishes could be improved. I hope his busy place doesn't always rely on one waiter, as it was the case when I went there... It leaves dirty plates piled up a bit everywhere around the place.. Great potential, if only you use the paper menus and announcements from the walls...
Best restaurant I have ever been in my life. Food is great, delicious and fresh. The staff are very kind. I recommend this restaurant 100%
The food was excellent for the price. And the service was very fast and super friendly. Our only issue was the atmosphere. They had tapped many pieces of paper in the wall that were indeed informative but very unappealing to look at. The walls looked like announcement boards. If you don't mind that, I would highly recommend this place.
Wordless to describe this place! Amazing food, great environment, and perfect service by the owner. Made us feel really comfortable and was very honest when he said they had run out of a couple of plates due to the time. A must stop in Rennes!
