An absolutely gorgeous stay in this stylish hotel. Even the rain casting its gloom across the lake couldn’t detract from the beauty of the location and the elegant, welcoming interior. In fact, it made it even more romantic! The staff, from our welcome at the door to the breakfast served in the quaint chocolaterie , were all a delight - super professional, yet relaxed and immaculate. The bar is elegant, well stocked and managed by Thomas, the attentive & knowledgeable barman. And the restaurant, oh my goodness, what a treat for the eyes, a taste sensation for the tongue and a feast for the stomach! It was all exquisite - beautifully presented through from the little amuse-bouche to the moreish petit-fours. We were a party of ten, and without exception, we all thought the food to be exceptional in taste, presentation and conception. They also accommodated, without fuss, a coeliac and presented the most beautiful gluten free alternatives where needed, but as the food is clearly freshly prepared and cooked, the modifications were minor. My husband was delighted! We would highly recommend to anyone coming to Biarritz and will certainly make an effort to return. It was also one of the best night’s sleep I’ve ever had in a hotel!

Excellent hotel in a beautiful and peaceful setting. The restaurant deserves special praise — the food was truly outstanding. The secluded lodges by the lake create a calm, private atmosphere, perfect for quiet relaxation and a complete break from everyday life.

Very nice hotel in quit surroundings. Very well appointed room, but it is missing a desk. Spacious bathroom but unpractical, 2 separate sinks but no room anywhere to put your toiletries. Very friendly staff. Nice big breakfast but very uncomfortable seating. The table is too high or the chair is too low. There is also a possibility to enjoy breakfast with a spectacular view over the lake, but you eat in sofas at a coffee table also very unpractical. I also found it very disturbing to find a very big size dog standing next to the table of its owners all through breakfast. Why are dogs allowed in a restaurant ?

I love this hotel. It's gorgeous. Really stylish and all staff were so friendly and welcoming. The bed was so comfortable and the breakfast was delish! I can't wait to come back and spend more time here. It was a nice surprise to be offered a lift to the airport at really short notice. Merci beaucoup

A great couples hotel… the whole castle overlooking the lake is dreamy. Pool and deck are made to relax. Service is pretty much aligned with a relais & chateaux pedigree. Dinner was not at the level of the menu’s description neither with the price. I would not go there just for that…. Breakfast on the other hand was very good.

Marvelous stay, my husband & myself experienced while celebrating our wedding anniversary. It was truly a unique and unforgettable experience from beginning to end. Our #47 lodge, situated directly on the lake, was exceptional particularly with the added luxury of the Norwegian SPA. Enjoying the 40°C hot water under a sunny blue sky was an absolute pleasure. The accommodation truly deserves its five-star rating, thanks to the spaciousness of the lodge, the bed quality and the generous shower. The restaurant, however, deserves even higher praise, with a seven-star rating for both the exquisite dishes and the impeccable service. Our special thanks go to Laura (who is always serving with a smile and kindness) and especially to Sylvain, who provided extensive and insightful explanations of the wines served. We are genuinely surprised the restaurant has not yet received a Michelin star, given the brilliance of the chef and the attentive team. A special thank you to the SPA team for the incredible 80-minute massage performed directly on the water. In few words, thanks to the entire property staff and especially to the persons who transported us daily by electric boat between the lodge and the shore. All property personnel contributed significantly to making our stay so enjoyable. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for making our anniversary celebration so special.

The hotel does not match its credentials, despite its appearance. Scrap the surface, and you realise how modest the services are, from the restaurant (very, very disappointing and excessively expensive) to the cleanliness of the room. The atmosphere is cosy but quite inauthentic. Amenities are limited, and the gym is disappointing. Staff are unable to speak any language other than French. The establishment benefits from geographical positioning (e.g., the lake and proximity to Biarritz) and unashamedly capitalises on that. Our restaurant experience has been the lowest point: food reminded of what is served in business class, overcooked and undercooked, cold, and unsavoury. Average price for plate is 50 Euros.

A fantastic property, we really enjoyed our two night stay. We visited with our 1.5 year-old and she also felt very welcome! The grounds of the hotel are just breathtaking. The room was very well appointed with a nice lake view, sparkling clean with a really comfortable bed. The breakfast was exceptional and the restaurant was very happy to attend to our various toddler-related needs. The staff was very helpful and friendly. Look forward to coming back!
