We stayed here for 3 nights in May. The new Dutch owners, Erik and Monique, are really helpful and friendly. We had great burgers cooked by Erik and the weekly barbecue was delicious and excellent value. The site itself is quiet and peaceful with views from each pitch of the Tarn. Lots of birds including eagle owls and nightingales. Spotlessly clean facilities. Good for cycle trips along the Tarn and to Albi. If you want lots of holiday camp type activities this site is probably not for you, but if you’re looking for a peaceful, beautiful site in an interesting area then I’d highly recommend a stay.

Best quiet location for relaxing and enjoying this peaceful location. Riverside pitches. Really friendly hosts with home cooked food 3 times per week. We will definitely be coming here again. Thank you. 😊

The road to this Dutch site is very narrow and you will be thankful if you don't meet anyone coming the other way! It is a very picturesque Hamlet/village and definitely worth a visit. The site has many rules which spoils things somewhat and the pitches are in the shade and very gloomy forcing you to go to the seating area where it is mainly dominated by Dutch people. They charge way too much for what they offer and also charge for dogs? Why! Dogs don't use any facilities so this is just another way of extracting money from you, the beers they sell are overpriced as is the weekly bbq, the wifi is poor as is the ehu. Nice people nice location but could be so much better.

As soon as I arrived, I knew I’d made the right choice. Monique met me on arrival and instantly made me feel very welcome to the beautiful site. Erik handed me a complimentary beer, which is a first on a campsite for me! Spread along the river, the pitches enjoy plenty of shade and views of the beautiful river itself, which is fabulous for swimming in from the small platform. The facilities are kept very clean and there are plenty of power points. The only sounds are of the birds. If a vehicle goes by on the road, they’re probably known to Monique & Erik! One was the Mayor! Ambialet is less than a kilometre away and well worth a visit, being so full of history. Make for the old monastery, the view is superb. The pièce de résistance was the food night. Held three times a week, the standard was far higher than I anticipated and very well presented. My fish night (Friday) consisted of several different fish and was delicious, enjoyed in the company of other campers and endless supplies of wine/beers. There are also choices of simpler food on other days, equally well done, especially la planche. I had to change my travel plans to enable me to stay for two nights rather than one. Thank you so much Erik and Monique for a wonderful stay! Tot ziens!

We were recommended to this heavenly campsite and we’re not disappointed. A truly amazing small campsite with everything you need, made extra special by Monique and Erik the owners. They welcome you with a smile and drink and make you feel like you don’t want to leave. We left and returned after 1 day having driven further up the Tarn in search of another campsite, but nothing compared so returned for 12 days in total. Because firstly the hosts, then the river to swim, canoe and paddle board on, the communal dinning which are so much fun with exceptional food. The nearby village has a small shop, cafe and 2 restaurants and stunning scenery. We will return Monique and Erik to continue our Dutch lessons and thank you again.

We had a great stay at Camp Vallée Du Tarn! Our pitch was big and right by the river with a beautiful and relaxing view. Lots of trees. Toilets and showers were extremely clean, and as it is a small campsite, they were never too far away. You can rent kayaks for free to explore the river, and there's food every evening and bread to order in the morning. Very good fries with sausage 😋 Super friendly Dutch owners and just a peaceful place to spend your vacation. Can highly recommend camping here!

What a warm welcome! We instantly felt at home. Generous pitches right on the river and the use of the canoes was an added bonus. Ambialet was a beautiful little town with a great cafe and small shop. Thank you so much, we will be recommending you. Owen and Lucy

Stayed at this beautifully located campsite for a week at the end of April. Despite the weather a great stay in a nice spot right on the Tarn. The sanitairy was renewed in 2017 and meets all requirements, functional and clean. A few times took advantage of the opportunity to eat a meal at the campsite that is passionately prepared by the owner; tasty and not expensive. The area is perfect for walking and cycling (with gears of course) and to visit various cities in the area (Albi, Cordes-sur-Ciel, Roquefort-sur-Soulzon). In Roquefort you can visit the caves and cheese factory of this special type of cheese. The nature in the area is still authentic with special plants (gamander broomrape, various orchids) and birds (black kite, eagle owl, golden oriole, nightingale) directly at or near the campsite. In short: a must!
