Off a quiet one way street a block back from the very busy promenade in Ajaccio about 1km along from the centre. It has a courtyard facing the road side where breakfast is served ( kudos to Louis here...) but that's all the catering...nor is there a bar.|First floor room at the front was spacious and had recent and tasteful decor. A room safe ( not attached to anything though) and a powerful fridge (v necessary this summer ), and a very good shower. Comfortable bed. Narrow balcony with a table and chairs but the outlook is just the rear of apartment blocks and the small front courtyard. ||Breakfast was tasty...Corsican products..no egg options though. Refills of everything gladly offered. |Parking...no car park but plenty of free parking in the surrounding streets and the area feels very safe.|The Trottel beach which is very nice is just a 5 minute walk.|There is no lift and the floors are tall so a bit of luggage lugging. |A lift and some hot breakfast options would boost it to 5 blobs. Price seems going rate fir Ajaccio in August..

Cute hotel with quite excellent staff. The rooms are clean and air conditioned. The location is excellent in a quiet side street very close to the beach. The staff is really helpful and very nice. If I am in the area again I will be happy to come back.

Hotel Marengo is an exceptional place: one of the rare examples of hotels that still operate following the best traditions of hospitality. Although we only stayed two nights, Marie, the directrice welcomed us in person when we arrived and attended to all our needs. When we left for a boat trip early in the morning the next day, Louis, the chef awaited us with freshly brewed coffee and also prepared us a bottle full of coffee for the boat; amazingly, they didn't even let us pay for all this. Marengo is a two-star hotel - and I understand why: the stairs are steep and there is no elevator. Still, I would choose it over many hotels of a much higher ranking. Our room was simple but clean, convenient and tastefully furnished. The city center is a very pleasant, 15-20 minute walk from the hotel along the seaside. There is also a beach within 2 minutes from the hotel. I would really recommend Hotel Marengo to everyone who wishes to stay in Ajaccio.

When I arrived at this hotel I felt welcomed. The staff was extremely nice with me. The hotel is very clean and modern. The price is good, taking into account that you are very close to the historical center of Ajaccio and that the beach is at 5 minutes, walking time. The place is quiet. We did not take the breakfast, but it looked good (we did not take it because we thought that it was a bit expensive, 12 euros).

We spent a lot of days (11) in Ajaccio, which was our base for our holiday, the staff was nice, every day our room was cleaned and out tawels were changed. It's a nice neighbour and very quite and there is the trottel beach at two minutes walking just in front of the hotel. The owner is a very kind and friendly lady and she can always help whit tips and advices. It's very recomanded!

We were extremely satisfied with this hotel. Very friendly owner/hostess and staff who did everything they could to make our stay pleasant. Small hotel, only 17 rooms. Very clean, new towels and soaps every day. Hood aircondition and beds. No restaurant, bar etc, but we enjoyed a good breakfast and coffee outside the hotel in the courtyard. 2 minutes to a very nice beach, a few beach tavernas, grocery shop also close by. 10 minutes to walk to center of Ajaccio, lovely city, lots of good food. If you are not looking for luxury, but a cosy and intimate "chic" hotel, this is the one you shuld choose if you go to Ajaccio.

Clean, minimalistic boutique hotel. Friendly owner. Quick and easy check in and out. No parking included but not too hard to find free parking on the street outside. No elevator, narrow and steep stair two floors to get to the room.

Well located very clean with kind of chick, generous continental breakfast and English speaking very kind host. ||Good location for a vacation in Ajaccio with good public transportation. ||The hotel has no parking lot but we could find free parking within walking distance.
