ECOVILLAGE VILLE AUX PRES

In the middle of Saillé village, la Maison des Paludiers is a great place to go. We have participated into a group visit with a knowledgeable guide (Geraldine). Welcome was very nice. The guide has explained with passion the history, architecture and technics. The visit is also adapted to kids. Great place to learn about Marais Salants and the region of Guerande.

You need a reservation. It's not a museum. I really don't have an opinion about it. The receptionist was very informative

I have been there five times, and I enjoy it every time. There is so much to learn and discover. The visit is split in 3. You can see the site on a 3D map with lights and animations, then you go in the marais itself on a tour with a guide and finally you see a movie (mostly in French) about the life of the paludiers (salt farmer). Super tour with great guides. I have had 5 sifferent guides now and all of them taught me something new every year. I cannot recommend it enough! 🥰

An instructive center on the nearby sallees. It start with a nice film followed by an educative explanation on how all this works. You should not miss this before visiting the salt fields.

What a great tour experience! This place has an excellent video and model presentation to show the history and organisation of salt harvesting. The walking tour is excellent, we loved our English-speaking guide, Cameron!~

Very interesting place. The australian guide was phantastic.

It's clearly a very touristic place. But it's also a very good place to start if you want to know about Salt of Guerande and have a tour then buy some genuine local products from the shop. The staff is nice and they have very good facilities. Book in advance though if you want to have a tour during summer times. Recommend.
