I am absolutely blown away by my stay at L'Hermitage Gantois. From the moment I stepped onto the property, I knew I was in for something special. The architecture is truly mind-blowing; it is a masterful blend of history and elegance that makes every corner of the hotel a sight to behold.|​Everything about our stay was perfect. Beyond the breathtaking design, the service was impeccable—the staff were professional, welcoming, and truly went above and beyond to ensure we were comfortable. It is rare to find a place that excels so thoroughly in both atmosphere and hospitality.|​This was a highlight of our trip, and I cannot recommend it highly enough. If you appreciate beauty, history, and top-tier service, this is the place to stay. I am already looking forward to my next visit!⅝

We had an absolutely wonderful stay at the hotel, and the brilliant experience began even before our arrival. Lily from the front-of-house team took exceptional care of us when my partner called with a few questions. Her professionalism and warmth gave us the confidence to go ahead with our entire trip to Lille. The suite we stayed in had a lovely classic charm, was well equipped, and the bedding and linens were beautifully presented. Breakfast was simple yet quintessential, and very enjoyable, particularly the warm croissants which were a bliss. The hotel itself is charming, with thoughtful art work and an old Chapel within the premises and within walking distance of the old town, which provided the perfect base for our stay. The valet parking service was excellent, our car was well looked after and easily accessible whenever required, which was a real bonus. Lily was outstanding throughout our stay with providing local recommendations, and so were the rest of the hotel staff, all of whom helped put us completely at ease. Thank you for making our pre-Christmas and personal celebration trip so meaningful. We had a truly brilliant experience.

From the moment you arrive, you can feel a sense of history. The outside of the hotel is undeniably beautiful. Inside the hotel has parts with a lot of character such as the chapel. However, I would say the furnishings could be improved. Our suite and the common areas were furnished with cheap looking furniture which is a letdown for such a beautiful building. This hotel could quite easily be 5 star with a bit of investment. ||My husband and I stayed in Room 116 which was at the very front of the hotel. It was separate from the main hotel. This particular room had a story behind it as it belonged to a historic figure however I cannot remember who unfortunately. ||The room had an entrance area which led to a main bedroom, bathroom and separate toilet. Unfortunately, the room was quite dim as the privacy curtains weren't very good and being on street level, we felt it was necessary to shut the curtains. ||We found an unpleasant mark in the toilet so we reported it to the front desk. The man said he would get the cleaner to deal with it right away. We left the room and saw the cleaner heading to our room. When we returned 15 minutes later, the mark was still there so I ended up having to clean it myself. Very poor. We had our doubts about the overall cleanliness of the room. I would say that this particular room attracts a lot of noise too as it is positioned where everyone arrives or gathers for a smoke. ||The service was generally pleasant but with a bit more consistency and polish, it could better reflect the high standard that the hotel promises. The lady working at the bar gave a frosty reception. We returned for a drink after dinner and a man served us and the service was very good. It's things like this that let the hotel down. ||Overall, this is a hotel full of character and charm, ideal for those who appreciate history. With some improvements on style and service, it could easily transform from a lovely stay into an exceptional one.

Lovely hotel , great location and great swimming pool . Service was good and the breakfast was really nicely presented even though the regular spot was under renovation . Staff very helpful .

I visited the L'Hermitage Gantois for a short Christmas break. A short walk from Lille Europe and so a short trip for us from London St. Pancras... The staff are impeccable, and made us very welcome, a language barrier is simply not a problem... The hotel keeps the building's original charm yet operates as a very modern hotel. Food, outstanding, we had a breakfast included rate, and I heartily recommend it. Let me say that breakfast was to the level of Fine Dining... the food was perfect, plentiful and the selection was great...

Adam at the front desk was helpful and kind to us. He remembered my marriott status AND my birthday without being told. The property is beautiful and unique. Highly recommend this marriott.

Spacious enough & comfortable bed in superior queen bedroom on 1st floor (201), plus was sauna on same floor. Our heating kept switching off at certain times of the day. Rectified daily by phone call to reception to turn back on remotely. The corridors in the hotel felt cold on our last day. Reception staff are exceptionally helpful & friendly. Centrally located, 10 minutes walk from train station and to centre. Stayed 3 nights, had one breakfast which wasn’t great so didn’t repeat. The bar area lacks any aspect of intimacy & comfort. We ordered drinks but twice did not receive the drinks ordered. The spa is basic but ok. Overall the hotel does not reflect 5 stars yet despite shortcomings, we left relaxed and refreshed.

Contrary to other recent reviews, I stayed here 1 night on business and enjoyed my stay. Service at check in was great, room was wonderful, nespresso machine , fluffy towel, nice toiletries etc. Had room service dinner as I had work to do, this was very enjoyable. Breakfast was fabulous. Close to train station would highly recommend.
