I'm a wedding photographer from the UK and had the privilege of photographing a wedding at the Château de Courtomer this summe... quite simply it's one of the most enchanting places I've ever worked at. The wedding in a nutshell: Liz & Matt exchanged vows on the grand steps of the Château, with the majestic structure serving as a backdrop. Following the ceremony, guests were treated to a drinks reception under the canopy of linden trees. The evening continued with an elegant alfresco dinner curated and presented by their personal chef, Franc, who outdid himself with every dish. As the sun dipped below the horizon, the festivities moved to the Orangery, where music filled the air, shoes were kicked off, and the guests partied the night away. Beautiful venue, great wedding suppliers, unbeatable atmosphere, old world charm, complete privacy- I love the Château de Courtomer! Can't wait to return!
If you're searching for a wedding venue look no further! I photographed a beautiful summer wedding here and this is one of my favorite venues of my entire career! This place has everything- a beautiful bridal suite, many different rooms to use, a kitchen, a separate reception area, and beautiful land! So many great photo opportunities. I would gladly visit again!
Our family, all three generations, all twenty of us, stayed at the Chateau over Christmas. It was truly wonderful! There aren't enough superlatives to do it justice. We had wanted to give our children and grandchildren an experience as memorable as a trip my mother had taken her children and grandchildren on to Lismore Castle in Ireland many years ago. The Chateau did that and then some. The Chateau is, of course, beautiful. It is also a very comfortable place and worked for all ages. Chef Franck enhanced the experience beyond our expectations. His gourmet dinners were a hit with young and old. The fresh croissants and brioche delivered every morning from the bakery in the village felt like such an indulgent way to begin the day. Tony was always at hand to help with whatever questions we had. And Jane and Aurelie made sure that we were comfortable and that our stay came off without a hitch. Dominique Eudier was a terrific guide for our tour of the D-Day Beaches. We are so, so, so grateful to you for sharing the history and beauty and comfort (and scrumptious meals) of such a wonderful place and allowing us to give our children and grandchildren such lovely memories.
Where to begin... I'm a wedding planner based in Miami, FL, USA. But this time, it was my turn to get married! I searched high and low for venues in the United States but France has a special place in our heart. During my research, I came across Chateau de Courtomer and it checked all of the boxes. It's not too far from Paris, it's historic, charming, private, quiet, flexible, and most importantly, all of the rooms have ensuite bathrooms. From the beginning, Beatrice & Heather (venue managers) were very friendly and quick to answer all of my questions/emails. Something to note, this chateau is in the countryside of France. It can be quite challenging to hire vendors if you're not familiar with the industry. However, they have a great selection of preferred vendors, many of which I used. It was truly a magical weekend and I cannot wait to go back. Thank you Chateau de Courtomer for making this wedding planner's dreams come true!!
Beautiful place. Attended a birthday celebration. We had 33 people staying 3 nights and there were plenty of spare bedrooms. Every room has it's own ensuite bathroom. There are so many social spaces for parties/ banquets etc. But the place is so huge that everyone can have there own space. Reasonably priced too.
I photographed Chantel and Evan's beautiful wedding at Chateau de courtomer. I highly recommend it, and look out for the many lovely spots around the grounds for photos, as well as the amazing staircase in the Chateau. All makes for some stunning photos! Philip Quinnell Photography
I am a wedding planner from the UK and since 2020 I have been joyfully planning weddings at Courtomer. The location has it all, boasts charm and also privacy, it is grand but homely and has all amenities for a relaxing stay. The venue is set in wonderful well maintained grounds, that change by the season providing the perfect backdrop at any time of the year, and offers a variety of onsite locations, where to host the several events of the wedding weekend. Despite the secluded position, the Chateau is at only 10 minutes walk from the village of Courtomer that offers a boulangerie, coffee shop, groceries and a lovely market at the weekend. The car may be essential for visiting beautiful villages nearby, but the vicinity to L'Aigle train station, makes the location easily accessible. If you are considering Courtomer for your special day, rest assured you will be assisted by a team of highly experienced and warm individuals from the very beginning. Heather and Jane, to name a few, will ensure that from the reservation all will be seamless and are always on hand should you need their assistance. Oh Courtomer, you definitely have my heart!
Chateau de Courtomer is one of Normandy’s jewels and seems to embrace you the moment you arrive. The team of staff couldn’t be more helpful. We were made to feel very much at ease in this beautiful home from the very start. The entire three days were a blessing for all of our family and friends who were cared for from beginning to end by Jane and her colleagues. The en suite rooms are beautifully appointed each with its own character and in keeping with the Chateau and its history. A splendid venue and the perfect surroundings for a wedding (or indeed any type of reception). What a treat!
