My wife was here due to breaking her leg/knee whilst skiing and all the staff have been brilliant. As typical Brits we don’t speak any other languages and our French isn’t too good. But the doctors, nurses and surgeons all made us feel comfortable and spoke their best English. I was kept up to date with my wife’s progress throughout her 7 day stay and anything we needed they jumped on straight away. I’ll be honest, coming in to a French public hospital I didn’t have high hopes, when comparing to back home, but I’m glad to say their healthcare is worthy of 5 stars! Some British hospitals could learn a lot from Alpes Léman.
My dad had an emergency and ended up here. It was the most horrible service EVER! After 2-weeks no one knew anything, no diagnosis and worst of all they kept him alone for most of the day, didn’t help him sit up or get up during his stay. Whatever you do avoid coming here in case of an emergency… and avoid at all costs. It might cost you your life.
We have given birth at the maternity unit of CHAL. The level of care has absolutely blown us away! The professionalism of the personnel, their humanity and how much the experience felt personnalised in view of the amount of patients they receive… The mid-wives and doctors provided the well-informed solutions and led us through a very challenging delivery, making difficult and informed decision quickly, while still finding time to lead us through the process. French not being our first language, they made sure we were informed and found patience to re-explain several times, when necessary. We felt we were in good hands all along, which is essential when trusting somebody with such important process. (Big thank you to Élodie, who delivered our baby, who persistently kept finding solutions in order to get us through natural birth despite numerous complications. I wish I remembered names of other staff present…) The post-natal care equally has incredibly dedicated staff, always available to help and show how to care for a new-born. We learned so much during our 5 day stay! Every single person we encountered felt like they loved their job, treated it like a vocation, cared deeply for every baby and mother. I couldn’t believe that among 20 people we met we didn’t meet a single person who seemed to have an off day. Overall, we couldn’t be more happy with quality of services we received at the Maternity and Neo-natal unit. I wish I could name everyone who made this a great experience despite difficult circumstances. Instead, huge THANK YOU to the whole unit!
Worst experience ever. My friend fell on his head. We had to wait for 4 hours. No contact with the nurses nor the physician. Zero care for the patient. Eventually we left after 3 hours of being neglected… Went to a different hospital
Worst hospital i hv ever seen. I was transfered from a clinic to this rotten hospital. As they were not specialised in Septicemia. I arrived at 12:20pm. One imale intern came to check on me for a few secs, his mind was elsewhere, he told me that he would find out with the other clinic, (don't know what as the file was already with them) I was not given any treatment untill midnight. I rang the bell at 6:43pm to get some attention, someone came to see me only after 25mins; ( in other words if the patient is dying they can't be bothered).i asked her what was happening why i was not given any treatment,,, she was not too happy and she left my door wide open. To top up my troubles i was put in a tiny room, It is meant for a single person. they put another bed next to my bed. My advise to people PLEASE AVOID THIS HOSPITAL
My dad has a cancer and asked to be in hospital. What the doctor did he ignores his request twice. It doesn't matter how long left he might have... just a shame. If I can put no star I will put it. Doctors just don't listen to the patients needs at all...
Over the years they keep adding buildings, and medical bureaucrats, yet the reviews are either very negative, or paid by the hospital to show the good nature of the healthcare factory.
Thanks to the staff for their care and attention to the patients despite the busy time
