We were in town for a wedding being held about 30 minutes away. The hotel is very close to the SNCF railway station, 13euro taxi ride away just 7 minutes. Across the street is a large indoor food market, both fresh and cooked. I'd go here each morning for 1euro coffee at the italian plan towards the far back. Do make sure you walk around town, get lost, It's a nice town, even if this location is a bit dumpy looking.

The establishment lack adequate air conditioning during the hottest time in Europe. I called a head to ensure their AC worked however upon arrival it was less than adequate. The thermostat says 20 degrees Celsius however it felt much warmer. The thermostat would reset the next day and I would have to call to have them manually drop it again. After the 3rd day they told me no.

The hotel was clean and very comfortable and the front desk staff was extremely helpful through the trip. They let us keep one of rooms for a late check out so we could sneak in a little more shopping & lunch before driving home. But perhaps the best thing was the location- can’t be beat! Across the street from Les Halles market and a block from great bd and clothes shopping.

this hotel is right opposite the superb covered market and an easy walk to the various points of interest in the city. It is in the old town, up the hill so has lovely views. There is a spacious underground carpark exclusive to the hotel, which one has to pay for, but worth it. |Our room was fine, we had a good view of the market and down the valley. It had a walk in shower which suits me better. |there was a big vintage car rally going on that weekend, which we didn't know about,so the city and hotel were very busy. It made a lively atmosphere, but rather noisy at night in the square below, |There is a lovely garden behind the hotel where one can sit with a drink etc. The views from there are superb. `it is also very useful if you have a doggie like me! |The staff are very friendlly and helpful in particular Estelle was a great receptionist|We at in the `bistro there both nights as the city restaurants were all booked up. The food and service was very good indeed. ||The breakfast buffet was excellent with lots of choice. |Angouleme is well known for the comic artistry , there are many large murals, and a great art gallery of comic artists

Privilege room, very spacious with a comfortable bed. But, it took us ages to realise that you could "turn off" the glass panel looking from the room into the bathroom. We really did NOT want to see our partner on the toilet! |The plug in the basin was broken and we were not keen on the "wetroom" principle. |Breakfast was okay, with plenty of choice and produce seemed to be of good quality. The bar was well-stocked. The hotel is well situated for the town and the garden would be lovely in good weather. The staff were very helpful and pleasant.

Basic hotel. No mini fridge in the rooms which I would have thought was a basic necessity these days!

Very comfortable restaurant close to the Centre of the old town. Warm welcome from staff and a comfortable room. The only downside is having to step over the side of a small bath on to a slippery surface for a shower. |Breakfast was included on our tariff and the food was plentiful with good choice of breakfast food.

Our accessible room (125) felt good quality, and was spacious. It had a view over the gardens. Overall it was excellent, and good value. The hotel is situated close to the city centre. As it was Assumption Day (lots of restaurants closed) we ate in the hotel bistro - Bardy - which was very pleasant (we were otside in the courtyard) but struggled to cope with the number of guests. I don't know if they had staff absences or were just unable to cope with high demand).
