Not allowed to do much photography, have to walk away from the building to get any good shots/permission to snap a pic. Obviously, the security was next level. Even getting off the train there were guards at the top of the escalators at checkpoints pointing tourists away from the staff entrance. There was a guy on the train platform with a rifle, Pentagon Police. Wanted to shoot a pic but didn't want him to shoot me! 😱

Very professional. EVERYONE we encountered. It's almost as if everyone checks their ego at the door, and they all truly want what's best for the warfighter. That is the focus. Also had the opportunity to visit the memorials. Very humbling. Our military, one of the few organizations where people, when they join, understand that sacrifice is a part of the job, even, potentially, the ultimate sacrifice.

The Wi-Fi is surprisingly non-existent for a place that supposedly knows what I had for breakfast, but the gift shop has some killer mugs. Warning: Do not try to take a selfie with the guards unless you want to find out how fast a human can be tackled. 10/10 would feel suspiciously monitored again.

Our visit to the pentagon was for the ribbon cutting dedication ceremony for a statue depicting the famous handshake between French General Foch and US General John J Pershing after their cooperative service that ended World War I… The event was dignified by members of both military organizations along with members of General Pershing’s family in attendance…

The fine print requires you to arrive 60 minutes early. Unfortunately, we missed that window, and there was no flexibility from this group. Very disappointing after making the effort to get there.

Too many posters of Major Hegseth, everywhere. The posters look like the old Uncle Sam recruiting posters, but Hegseth is saying, "I want you to use AI." Does he not realize they're already all using AI or does he just like to see himself everywhere? If you subscribe to a certain brand of evangelical Christianity, this is the place for you. The Secretary leads those services every month. If that's not your thing, you're out of luck because the separation of church and state doesn't exist in this building. Security screening for visitors is also extremely slow, even for those who are there on official business with all their prior permissions submitted. Lastly, don't even bother to drive to this building. The parking lot feels like a million miles from the entrance. Public transportation is much more efficient and environmentally friendly!

There is j just something about that place..... it's way more established than you think. Like a little city within. Simply amazing!
