A nice museum to learn about the history of wine. The museum shop is excellent and worth a visit on its own. We also joined a wine education session, which was enjoyable but felt a bit basic considering Bordeaux's reputation as a wine capital. Still, it's a good place to visit, especially if it's your first time in Bordeaux.

Incredible museum! Entrance is €23 including one wine tasting, which is not cheap but the museum is excellent and there is so much information! You could spend the whole day there if you wanted to. The 8th floor wine tasting was lovely. Highly recommend .

In the North of the city, near the Marina and boat yards, sits the imposing curved aluminum & glass building of La Cité du Vin, a high-tech, interactive wine museum complete with displays & tastings, all you ever wanted to know about the Bordeaux wine region, history, and its wines. The building is visible throughout the city and is often referred to by locals as the Golden snail, but its design is based on a wine decanter. It's a great place for those seeking knowledge or just a quick touch-up on Bordeaux wine and history. The tram stops close to the entrance.

I had a great time visiting La Cité du Vin in Bordeaux. The museum is truly impressive, with a modern and immersive style that makes the whole experience engaging from start to finish. I especially enjoyed how information is shared through interactive demonstrations—it never feels boring or overwhelming. One of the highlights for me was the sensory experience, particularly the different aromas you can explore, which really brings the world of wine to life in a unique way. And of course, the panoramic view from the top floor is absolutely worth it—such a beautiful perspective over Bordeaux. A must-visit if you’re in the city, whether you’re a wine enthusiast or just curious to learn something new.

Excellent and engaging exhibits on wine around the world. I especially liked the several videos of interviews with winemakers in Greece, Australia, Portugal, the USA and of course France describing the unique challenges they face due to geography, climate, etc. Really engaging exhibits that illustrate the history of wine from 6000 years BC to the present. The audio guide is great. Loved the tasting room on the top floor with an expansive view over Bordeaux.

A very interactive museum for all wine lovers out there. Learn some basic things about wine when it comes to production, tasting, pairing and of course history. And the best part? Enjoy a glass of wine of your choice with a panoramic view of Bordeaux.

This is a cool museum, they have a lot of interactive displays and extensive history about wine and its origins. Overall I think I was expecting something different in my head, but it is still a nice museum to checkout. I think the highlight for me was going up to the 8th floor and seeing the panoramic views of the city and getting a glass of wine.

Super educational and fun. Wine bar at the top with great views. They offer different experiences and I loved the sensory tasting. Not an ordinary museum experience and a great value for the money.
