⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ An Absolute Gem in the Heart of Provence! If you are looking for the perfect place to stay in or around Avignon, look no further than Bastide de Bellegarde. From the moment we arrived, we were completely swept away by the beauty, the warmth, and the sheer magic of this place. The property itself is stunning — a true Provençal bastide dripping in charm and character. Every detail has been lovingly curated, from the gorgeous grounds to the beautifully appointed rooms. Waking up here each morning felt like stepping into a dream. The setting is peaceful and utterly romantic, with the sights and scents of the South of France wrapping around you at every turn. But what truly sets Bastide de Bellegarde apart is its owner, Brian. What a wonderful human being. Brian goes above and beyond in every conceivable way — warm, knowledgeable, generous with his time, and genuinely passionate about ensuring every guest has an unforgettable stay. He is the kind of host who remembers your name, anticipates your needs before you even know you have them, and makes you feel less like a guest and more like a cherished friend. He offered brilliant local recommendations, shared fascinating stories about the region, and was always on hand with a smile and a kind word. Thanks to Brian, our stay in Avignon was elevated from a simple holiday into a truly extraordinary experience. We left with full hearts, wonderful memories, and an absolute certainty that we will be back. If you have the chance to stay at Bastide de Bellegarde — take it. You will not regret a single moment.

So, on our Switzerland trip, we decided to book this awesome place. Not only are the facilities super well-kept and fancy, but we also got to hang out with the host himself, Brian, at his place, whether it was in the afternoon or while he was whipping up a delicious dinner. From the moment we booked, Brian went above and beyond to make sure our dinner requests were met, especially since my wife and her mom are allergic to all fish and shellfish. He made us a really good dinner, huge portions, with that homemade feel you don't get in a lot of restaurants. He paid attention to every little detail and was always chatting with us. Plus, the homemade breakfast—fresh juice, warm bread and croissants, homemade omelet—was seriously amazing to kick off the day. A perfect breakfast! But honestly, what really makes the stay special is Brian, our fun, friendly, polite, and charming host. Just meeting him and spending time with him makes booking here totally worth it. I'm sure we'll be back, and if you're thinking about it, just book it. It'll be a unique and unforgettable experience.

Bastide de Bellegarde was an unexpected treasure and truly the highlight of our trip to southern France. From the moment we arrived, Brian made us feel so welcome and relaxed. He even upgraded our room, which was such a lovely surprise. The property itself is stunning — peaceful, beautifully maintained grounds with unique and interesting decor, just a few minutes from Avignon’s city center. There aren’t many rooms in the home, so it offers a more intimate setting for the guests. Every meal we had was outstanding; Brian offered dinner each night that was delicious and thoughtfully repaired, and the complimentary breakfast each morning was a great way to start the day. This was such a unique and special experience that we will never forget, and we were genuinely sad to leave. We can’t wait to return and to share this place with our friends and loved ones. We couldn’t recommend this place more.

Hospitality has no equal to that of Brian and Bastide De Bellegarde. My sister and I spent four unforgettable nights immersed in the charm and soul of this remarkable host and his beautiful château. Every detail reflected care and warmth—from the supremely comfortable beds and fine art to the exceptional food and Brian’s delightful company. If you have the chance to stay here, don’t hesitate. You’ll leave refreshed, inspired, and rediscovering the joy of a life filled with wonderful surprises.

We stayed here for three nights and had a wonderful experience. The property is beautifully decorated with a strong artistic feel, making it a great place if you enjoy taking photos. The room was warm, quiet, and very comfortable, and we slept extremely well. Brian was an incredibly kind and welcoming host and even drove us into town, sharing local sights and history along the way, which we really appreciated. Breakfast was included and was excellent, with a good variety and very fresh ingredients. Overall, a truly lovely place to stay, we would absolutely recommend it.

This old stone mansion was completely restored by Brian, the affable Irishman who serves as your host. He is really what makes the place as he has gone out of his way to think of all his guests’ needs and continues to do so. The place is furnished in a charming eclectic country style but has modern amenities as well. One night we had a homey meal outside on the terrace. The breakfasts were very abundant. One can take lovely walks right from the hotel on quiet country roads yet one is only a 5 minute car ride from Avignon where there is abundant free parking right outside the city with a frequent shuttle to the city gate. We were there for wine tasting and it was a 40 minute car ride to Gigondas and 35 minutes to Chateauneuf de Pape but this was very doable and did not see much other lodging around which could compre to the Bastide. There is a swimming pool which apparently guests can enjoy in the summer but wasn’t open in the cooler days of our April visit.

A magical place! Host Brian attends to every detail. It is located outside the bustle of the city, and is a 10 minute taxi ride away. |The gardens are beautiful, the house brilliantly decorated and the food delicious and bountiful. The atmosphere is serene, the embodiment of Provence. |Breakfast, which is included in the room rate, is a bountiful feast. Dinners, which Brian prepares, are also available if you choose to stay. Our dinners were amazing. |I cannot say enough about La Bastide de Bellegarde. I hope we are fortunate enough to return.

Absolutely the best place to stay in the Provence area. Gorgeous property and the Bastide is like stepping inside a painting. Rooms were quiet and very comfortable. They serve breakfast, lunch, and dinner and it is some of the best food we have ever eaten. The host Brian takes care of everything you could possibly need. He knows so much about France and the food which made the experience so much more memorable. This place has been the highlight of our trip!
