Great Zoo with a wide variety of animals. V good bird show every day. Well sheltered so especially good for the young in v warm weather. Not crowded and v easy to get arround
An absolute corker of a zoo...so lucky to have found it! All the usual animals plus a whole group of Orangutans and brown bears! Plains of Africa was stunning too!
Fantastic zoo. Large, beautiful enclosures, especially for the predators. Lovely play area. An unexpected gem to break up the journey to/from Rennes
Amazing!!! I came for team meeting here and stayed for one day. It was worth..
Its a very good zoo, with genuine awareness of the future protection of wildlife, Its a large park, with so many animals to see, We did find the map that provides a route around the park, a little difficult to follow unless you are aware of some of the structures that you have to walk through to get into another area
We were there on 4th September, as most of the schools already opened, the zoo was not at all busy. We brought our own picnic. Most of the animals were sleeping because of the extreme heat but I particularly loved the African plains, but 5 kilometres to cover the entire zoo on foot is ver hard with a little one without a pram, I am hoping they will work on providing electric buggies to travel in the zoo or provide good tree cover for the summer months for us to enjoy the zoo.
Beautiful zoo with happy animals. There's also a playground for children. A year pass costs like two visits, so if you live anywhere around it is worth buying.
Edit: For some reason my review got 1 star while this should definitely be 5 stars. We have thoroughly enjoyed our visit to this zoo. It is not necessarily one of the best-known zoos in France, but this zoo should definitely be on your list of good zoos in France. Obviously its a different scale compared to the big zoos like Bioparc de Doué-la-Fontaine or Zoo beauval, but there is some proper zoo design quality to be found here. Most zoos have at least some enclosures that are not quite up-to date anymore, but we had a hard time finding such enclosures in this zoo. Even the former bear enclosure was already of a respectable size, yet now the animals got a huge and beautiful enclosure. Our favourite enclosure was without doubt the south-america enclosure (Iguazu park): it was a lush aviary with plenty of birds, several free-roaming primate species, armadillos, margay and an indoor enclosure with free-roaming sloths and some terraria. A perfect example of clever enclosure design, interesting species, visitor immersion and efficient use of space. In general the collection is impressive with some favorites for the general public (gorilla, orang utan, lions and a fullblown africa savannah), but also plenty of rare species (snow leopard, margay, bat-eared fox, blesbok and rock-wallaby). The latest expansions are huge enclosures that are highly impressive. Undoubtedly fantastic for the animals and as such an impressive new part to the zoo. We were less excited by the tiger enclosure. This enclosure was also huge, but as these animals don't live in groups we had a hard time finding the animals in the enclosure (we found one tiger all the way in the back hidden in the grass and another one pacing the fence to the side). Also the enclosure was quite open and in my opinion lacking trees that would have made it better match the natural habitat. Personally we would consider a different choice of species that make for a more attractive group-based species. We could see a nic
