I totally agree with the previous reviews on this restaurant. My rating could have been excellent: the restaurant is located in the countryside, in summer you can eat outside, with very nice views and a very relaxing atmosphere. The food was excellent and prices are reasonable for French standards. Nonetheless, my rating is normal because of the service. I am not sure whether it is because we are foreigners, but we really did not feel "well treated", specially if we compare it with the way the owner treated her "local guests". Instead, we were treated as if we were "occupying" a table, a very unpleasant feeling and something that did not make us feel at ease during the whole dinner. What a shame!

By far our favorite dinner while we were in Gers! Artfully presented local cuisine, a stunning view, and a charming waiter!

We met up here with some close friends for a meal and were treated to a wonderful evening. The food was excellent and fabulous value, with friendly and efficient service, all of which helped make our evening memorable. We then stayed overnight in our comfortable rooms before waking to a tasty breakfast. The auberge has stunning views over the Gers countryside, and its beautiful grounds were perfect for a relaxing stroll before we left. Au Vieux Pressoir is a great venue and helped make for a memorable get together. Well worth searching out, even outside of the regular tourist season.

We did not stay in hotel but had a meal here on the veranda one evening. The hotel is not so easy to find but once there, we enjoyed the atmosphere of the French countryside and there is even a pig (see photo, not part of the menu) in the pen for children to admire. ||Despite being a busy evening, the services were quite prompt and the staff took our order carefully. The quality of food is good and the cooking and service standard is high. We will be back again!

This could have been so much better if our server had been as attentive and professional to us as she was to a couple of groups of regulars. I'm sure attending to the needs of regulars is a good idea, but at the expense of the other tables? Clearly our server was as contemptuous of economics as of her guests.|I don't understand why French restaurants don't sell champagne by the flute. You have to buy a bottle, yet we only wanted a glass to start the meal. Surely there a business in selling your local product by the glass?|The view was fabulous, a chambre d'hôte on top of the hill with views over vineyards. It was very warm and seating on the terrace was a must. We had a table for two (plus the baby) but had to provide our own high chair. They had only one, and there were several young families in for dinner.|Ordering was fairly swift, and our aperitif did arrive reasonably quickly but then it all went wrong to the point we were ignored for 30 mins after finishing our main course before being asked if we wanted desert. I wanted just a coffee, my wife an almanac. My coffee was served and I had finished it long before the waitress even arrived with the list of almanacs.|To be fair the food was OK. The plates were the same in terms of salad, stuffed tomato and potatoes. You just decided if you wanted duck, duck, meat or fish.|This could be a nice place to stay. Perhaps if you were a guest you'd be treated better, but other than the view it wasnt much to write about...even here :-)

We came across this auberge on the recommendation of a french couple we met in Lectoure on market day years ago. And we have been going there ever since. The view and the light over the rolling hills and countryside is unbelievable. This is the picture perfect French auberge that everyone dreams about .||The menu is limited to fresh ingredients , duck , duck and more duck. Why would anyone go to Gers otherwise!||Extremely good value if you take room and half board. Service is leisurely but that is the country way. The owners, husband (Laurent) runs the kitchen, the wife (Christine) sees to the front end. They are typically french...very formal, but when you get to know them, they are wonderful people. There is a very nice swimming pool and it is never crowded.||An worthwhile detour and you will keep going back, like us.

A convivial lunch on a busy stylish terrace out in the sticks with far reaching rural views. Our local friends suggested the “Traditional Menu” at €25 a head but inevitably there was a preponderance of foie gras in the choices for each of the four courses. I wanted lighter dishes and was not disappointed with a vegetarian terrine, langoustines, the fish of the day (in truth this one dish would have been sufficient for me) and ice cream. All delicious and good value, especially as the drinks proved inexpensive. It was quite a hearty lunch so afterwards we postponed further sightseeing and lazed around in the sun in the grounds (regrettably the pool was for overnight guests only).

Excellent spot for a traditional French lunch, beautiful relaxed setting, reasonably priced but high quality menu, very good well priced wine list too. If canard is not your thing you may find the menu limited!
