Alex is someone that we can really count on. We've used his services many times over the past 15 or so years and highly recommend him. He provides an exceptionally valuable service at a reasonable price. I site the first two incidences: In 2010, My wife had dropped a very costly jewelry box made of a fine Hawaiian koa wood and it split along the seams. We had considered sending it back to the craftsman that made the box (who resides in OR), but it would have been very costly and risky to ship it and have it repaired. We found this highly-rated handyman on Yelp (Alex) and decided to give him a try. He was prompt, reasonably priced, and provided an excellent solution to the problem. The box is as good as new (even now in 2026)! We bought some nice wooden shelves from Costco a couple of weeks ago. I had given the assembly project to a family member, but the person was not able to complete the job, and in fact had stripped one of the screw holes needed for the assembly. We immediately called Alex and he was able to schedule a visit within a day or two. He not only repaired the damage, but did an excellent job at assembling the shelves and, while he was at it, secured it to the wall to prepare against an earthquake. How proactive can you get? Alex is highly-rated and definitely worth it! Added 7/17/16: Alex has done some additional awesome work for us between 2010 and 2016 that I would like to comment on: He modified our countertop to accommodate a Bosch dishwasher and a KitchenAid refrigerator and a garbage disposal. In the process, he upgraded the electrical wiring to handle the job. Additionally, while doing the wiring, he also discovered and corrected a dangerous situation caused by the folks that had flipped the house we bought: The fan above the stove had been venting the greasy exhaust into the attic! Another successful project with Alex! I wanted to modernize an out of use fireplace—Alex and I came up with a plan which we modified as he carefully started demo. His tile craftsman subcontractor was excellent. The result is far better than I had hoped for! Alex has a great eye and opinions and can shift his opinions as things develop. Once he commits to a project and sets aside time, he gets in done. This project was complete in under 2 weeks.

Alex is great to work with. He responds quickly to texts and phone calls and he will talk through the process needed before the work starts. We have worked with Alex for little things for years but the most recent was turning our old sun-bleached door into a cool new smart lock door. I couldn’t be happier. It used to be a wrestling match to lock it and unlock it and now you can lock or unlock it with your pinky finger. As a bonus while the paint was drying Alex did a little tour of the house to see what else he could fix quickly. 5/5, will call Alex again for our next project.
