I did not stay here, I only ate at the Brasserie, but it was quite good. While my Shrimp Tempura was decent if not amazing, the beef tartare was really good! Staff was quite attentive.

The best thing about the hotel is that the room was clean and check-in fast (after having completed a pre-check-in online). It was just a quick one-night stopover on our journey, so we didn’t expect too much, but it was still disappointing. First, there was no coffee maker in the room, as shown in several TripAdvisor photos. We wanted a coffee and a quick escape, but we ended up paying 11 euros p/p for a so-so breakfast, just to get that coffee! There are no other alternatives nearby. The breakfast was all right, with a varied spread: from watery scrambled eggs and under-cooked bacon to a good variety of pastries. But 11 euros each is rather exorbitant for breakfast: almost the same price for our dinner in downtown La Rochelle, with outdoor seating by the port. The room was adequate but minimal: the bathroom was miniscule, and the only amenity was two tiny bars of soap and two very small paper cups. We were given a room just above the entry and next to the neon “Brit Hotel” sign, which glowed all night. Fortunately, the blackout curtains almost blocked out the light. Checkout was slow as there was only one person working both the breakfast area and checkout. Do not plan to return.

We stayed for two nights in a double bedded room, good bed, good and very needed aircon and only slightly noisy. The room was clean and basic but we had a very good price. Good WIFI included. The shower room was OK with fitted soap dispensers, my only real criticism is the shower head could have been better.||||We found the hotel with ease and the parking was good. We were early but they allowed an early check in. The staff were lovely and did speak soon English which was much better than our French.||We did not eat in the very busy restaurant but the diners all looked happy with their lot.||We did have coffee and a drink or two, there is no real bar but hey just grab a table and get on with it.||The room needed of improvements as to where you put your stuff but again we were there to sleep only.||||Would stay there again

We only stayed one night but it was perfect for us. The staff were very welcoming, the room was clean and bright. One large bed which was very comfortable and a nice size bathroom. Very good breakfast buffet. Very convenient for the motorway and La Rochelle. Would definitely stay there again.

This hotel has everything you would want for a base to visit La Rochelle. It is a couple of miles outside La Rochelle, but transport is good - either a bus across the street or the hotel will ring for a taxi, around 12 - 15 euros to the town centre. This hotel is clean and comfortable with good food and very friendly staff. We had a problem with air conditioning late at night but the information booklet didn't seem to have an emergency number for after hours. Spoke to receptionist in the morning who showed us where the number was, still didn't really see it but eventually understood what she meant. They need to have an English speaking person review their information leaflets. Other than that it was perfect.

Stayed here for one night in Dec 2013, as a stopover on our way down to Spain. Friendly and helpful staff. Saw no other guests at all during our stay. Room clean apart from shower door. Shower gel provided but no soap. Hand towel dirty, receptionist changed straight away. A/C awkward to operate/turn off. Good water pressure in shower. Bed not v comfy, b/f and I kept rolling towards each other. Pillows lumpy, too high for b/f. Breakfast expensive - €9 per person (room was €56) , was acceptable in terms of choice though boiled eggs were cracked and v grey inside. Free parking and wifi (quite fast). Room v quiet, no outside noise. Would probably stay elsewhere if returning to the area.

This hotel is located just off a roundabout. There are no restaurants within walking distance and hotel restaurant closed for dinner. The only reason for choosing this stop over hotel. I would not spend a holiday here. Rooms are ideal for short stay/ overnight. There is no lift. Breakfast in morning was good. Staff very friendly.

Visited for food early June 2015, initially we were impressed, attentive service and the food arrived quickly, burger with all the trimmings and a carbonara, the food was great and we proceeded to puruse the dessert menu, we decided to just have another drink.... It didn't arrive, after half an hour we approached the bar, paid and left. ||Returning to the area in high season we decided to give it another chance. nothing has changed, our main arrived swiftly, unfortunately 1 of the steaks was not cooked as requested and both meals were lukewarm. They did quickly replace the steak but we experienced the same delays as our initial visit when requesting desserts. It's a great place and the staff once you get their attention are on the whole hospitable but the attention to detail and a reasonable service is questionable. I'll be choosing one of the other restaurants in the area next time I visit
