Avis
Nice to make some pictures.
This high vaulted gate gives entrance to the Bastide, via place du General de Gaulle to Rue Courtejaire a bust pedestrianised street, the gate dates back to the 14th century, one of many attractions to see during a visit to this lovely city.
Beautiful place, pics are taken of places surrounded here. Short-time visit is not bad at all. Highlights are buildlings' structure and artistic architecture designs. No comments on these, recommended place to enjoy with old local architectures.

Nice area to walk around, very historical, and lots of parking in the area, free parking on a Sunday, and only 2Euro 20cent for 3 hours.
While occasionally VERY busy, this is one of the "Doors" into the old Bastide of St. Louis used to attack the Cité of Carcassonne in 1260. A piece of history that less to plenty of local businesses. Has a merry-go-round nearby.
It is pleasant to take a walk around Portail des Jacobins. There is a park in that area and some restaurants. Relaxing environment.
Beautif piece of architecture!
