I can't help but write a review for this place. The waiters there are young guys who are really kind, they go an extra mile to accommodate the clients, and with no fanfare. First, they found for the 5 of us a table at peak lunch time, then when we said we are going to be joined by another 4 people, they helped us transfer to a free table outside where we could wait. When our friends arrived, they again quickly found us a bigger table inside, helped transfer again (and all this with no fuss). The food arrived quickly, and it was very tasty - important when you have hungry kids (and adults)! I could not ski after lunch because I hurt my knee, so I sat outside on the terrace, and one of the waiters very kindly brought me a blanket so I could be warm (I really appreciated it!). Then my family was back and we headed back to the gondola to go down to the village. Almost at the gondola, I saw one of the waiters running towards us - he brought me my backpack, which I forgot on the terrace! This was such a kind gesture! You don't often find service like, I am telling you. We are definitely going to be back to this ski resort (which is amazing by the way), and back to this restaurant. Thank you waiters for being so nice!
Good value, clean toilets and a fireplace to dry off by! I had the plat du jour and it was fairly tasty and very filling. This place really gets packed at lunch time, but the staff are efficient.
For my first time skiing at Le Grand Bonard this place was the best restaurant I visited each day. The food was very nice and priced reasonably well. The staff were friendly, helpful and welcoming even at peak time around 13:00pm. If you want a quick coffee fix and good food this place is a must.
Great value for money (compared to ski resort restaurants at Whistler or Val Thorens.) We made the mistake of ordering a salad to share in addition to "plat du jour" for me and sausages+fries for my wife...and it was too much food! The salad was great. Also love the high-efficiency glass-door wood stove in the middle of the dining room.
No Trip Advisor entry - so wouldn't have even given this place a go except it was on the recommendation of our ski instructor (who eats there)! Visited two days in a row, as the pizza and salad was so good and very well priced. Exactly what we needed for lunch after intense morning lessons. Ate indoor and outside (note your pizza goes cold quick when it's minus temperatures even in the sunshine). There's also a resident dog who really will give you puppy dog eyes if you have any leftovers available. Just remember you go pay at the cash desk inside!
Absolutely love this place. We go everytime we are skiing in Chinaillon. Staff is super nice and the food is really good!
I went here last year and enjoyed absolutely everything. Great food, service, and atmosphere. Right by the gondola.
Great pizzas too
