Always a must see when i go to Le Puy, beautiful church with many secrets and little ally ways. There are some closed doors that if you give a little push will open right up and you will find yourself all by yourself in a new section of the church. There are great views of the city and other landmarks in the city. Do be ready to walk up many steps as this church is at the top of the hill.

This was one of the most unexpected surprises in our entire trip to France. We stumbled upon it quite by accident. At first glance, it seems quite plain, but we loved the exquisite craftsmanship on display in the woodworking and artwork inside. It is also seems to be an important stop on the Saint Jacques de Compostelle pilgrimage trail.

A place of pilgramage. All roads lead to the cathedral. Over 144 cobble stone steps to the top. Not for the faint of heart. Opens up to the altar of the cathedral. Statues of Joan of Arc and Louie XIV. The black virgin Mary. The original was burned during the french revolution.

Unfortunately we caught a mass which the tourist office said wasn't happening! Not terribly exciting.

Beautiful cathedral, also surrounding buildings are impressive.

This is a magnificent historical Romanesque cathedral. It's location on a high point in the heart of the old town offers amazing views of the city. We were lucky as during our visit there was a Pilgrim's mass on. This Cathedral is definitely a must visit.

The Cathedral, the Norte Dame de France and the surroundings are beautiful and hold the pretty little medieval town together.
