I was attempting to book for dates in April when the Booking.com website defaulted to the current day at the moment of booking meaning I had booked a two night stay for that very night and the next night, not two months in the future. The policy of the hotel did not allow me to cancel the booking as it was less than 24 hours notice (the same day). I immediately called the hotel to explain the booking error. The reception staff could not have been less helpful or caring. The first girl I spoke to could not have cared less and had no shred of compassion of empathy. I explained it was an error, that I was calling within two minutes of the booking having been made. She did not allow me to swap the booking to April. She refused to refund me. I asked to speak to her manager, she spoke to someone out of ear shot and then hung up on me. I immediately called back and another woman answered. I asked "did you just tell your colleague to hang up on me?" to which she replied "yes". She refused to refund me anything. I asked her to cancel my booking for the second night, as this was more than 24 hours away. She said "yes, this will be possible". I requested that she e-mail me to confirm that the refund would be processed, which she agreed to. No email confirmation came. The whole amount for a two night stay was deducted from my balance. Booking.com customer service were next to useless and were unable to contact the hotel. Every message I have sent the hotel goes unanswered. Completely unprofessional customer service, I implore everyone to take their business elsewhere as based on my experience the management staff have absolutely zero professionalism and not a shred of humanity or empathy. Reading other reviews of this place, many other guests have had similar experiences with the appalling 'management' team, citing uncaring and deeply unpleasant staff. Stayed here because my husband required urgent surgery. Massive stain on carpet outside our room, very limited facilities, and very basic room. Breakfast good.

A peaceful place to stay, yet still close to the city centre. The staff were very friendly and welcoming.

We stayed for one night mid September and reserved a car park space (8euros). Our £50 room on 1st floor was clean and well equipped with a USB socket, modern compact shower room, blackout curtain, TV and very comfortable beds with mattress toppers. We got two towels each and two pillows each, nice shower gel and a great nights sleep. An easy walk into medieval town centre. Lucky I didnt read the previous reviews before booking - maybe its been recently modernised?

We booked a double bed room for one night on our way back from Brittany to Germany for a very good price. The concierge was extremly friendly and helpful. He had a solution for all questions and wishes. We can recommend it and would book it again.

10 min walk to center. Rooms very clean and nice. Wifi very slow though. 220 euro for a family of 4 seems excessive for 1 night but must be the city. Breakfast good.

My room was tiny and extremely hot during summer, no aircon and window by a busy street. Additionally the shower had zero water, making it an extremely uncomfortable stay.
