The chef who welcomed us at the entrance was actually very warm and friendly, which honestly made us excited to try this restaurant. Unfortunately, the experience with the waiter completely ruined the evening. As two Asian female tourists, we genuinely felt looked down on and uncomfortable during the entire meal.🤧 We asked for tap water. The waiter said “okay” and then immediately brought us a 1L Evian, opened it without properly confirming, and charged us 7€ for it. Later we saw other tables drinking tap water normally. When we questioned it, we were told he “thought tap water was unhealthy,” so he decided to give us bottled water instead without asking whether we wanted to pay for it. We were also rushed while translating the menu, interrupted while speaking, and told things like “We have English below, English is simple, just read the English.” Excuse me ??? Can‘t you see that we are Asians? I was even questioned for wearing a hat while eating, in a tone that felt more mocking than polite. We completely understand that there may be local dining customs we are unfamiliar with as tourists. I have to search on my phone to ask if it‘s because wearing a hat in your restaurant is disrespectful to your behavior and then taking off my hat. But that is exactly why things should be explained respectfully, not in a way that makes guests feel stupid, unwelcome, or intimidated. Those words had make me feel so uncomfortable in the restaurant that I genuinely felt nervous sitting there and could barely finish my food. The food was good, the chef is very nice to everyone. Thank u for that. PS: Thank you for your reply! We accept your apology and raise the star rating. I have changed the wrong part of the owner. It‘s a pity that we have left. I hope the waiter can recognize his mistake. :)
Best restaurant we went to on our two week trip to france (and we ate out every day). Owners were super friendly and welcoming, service was fast for food and seating. Atmosphere was really beautiful, we were sat under a big tree next to a fountain. Food was delicious, you must order the tiramisu, it was the best one we ever had.
Absolutely lovely little place. We had the pleasure of having Dominico (I think was his name) as our server, and he did an amazing job. Super duper service and he was very pleasant. The food wasn't anything incredibly innovative but if you're looking for a good bowl of pasta, this is the place to go. They have both indoor and outdoor seating but if the weather allows it I would totally recommend sitting outside as it is just incredible
During my recent trip to Montferrat, I stumbled upon Scarpetta on my last evening, and it turned out to be a delightful find. The restaurant, though small, had a cozy atmosphere with tasteful Italian decor. The owners, a welcoming couple, made us feel at home from the moment we walked in. One of the highlights was the open kitchen, which allowed us to watch the chef in action and interact with the hostess. It added a nice touch to the dining experience. As someone who enjoys Italian cuisine, I found the menu at Scarpetta to be just right—simple yet satisfying dishes, cooked to perfection. The food was cooked fresh to order and was super quick to arrive. The salami pizza and carbonara were particularly enjoyable, with authentic flavours and ingredients. Great to have Pecorino and Guanciale in the carbonara! For dessert, we indulged in tiramisu and rum baba, both of which were delicious and a great way to end the meal. We also tried a selection of digestifs, which added a nice finishing touch. Would highly recommend the Gin Fizz with a shot of Limoncello. Also great to be served Peroni with a frozen glass! Overall, Scarpetta is a charming restaurant with great food and hospitality. I look forward to returning next year.
Great place! Great food. Our two girls had a great time too and loved the icecream. Food and service with real dedication and passion. Watching the cook preparing the pastas and his wife serving all the plates with a smile is quite unique! We loved it. We also really loved the style and the attention to all the details. We are definitely coming back soon. With love! Ciao!
Great Italian food made from scratch, and the service is excellent.
Nestled in a quaint corner of Bargemon, Scarpetta offers an enchanting al fresco dining experience. The ambiance, with its cozy outdoor seating and twinkling fairy lights, transports you straight to the heart of Italy. The menu boasts a delightful array of authentic pasta dishes, each bursting with rich, fresh flavours. The homemade spaghetti carbonara and frutti di mare are particular standouts. The attentive and friendly staff add to the charm, making you feel like part of the family. Whether for a romantic dinner or a casual meal with friends, Scarpetta is a must-visit for any pasta lover.
This place is adorable. Feels like coming home to your (non-existent) Italian family ;) The food is absolute soul food & the service is amazing! We stayed close to Bergamon for 3 nights and went to Scarpetta twice for dinner and once fore lunch, which speaks for itself I guess :) So don‘t miss out on this experience !
