First time in 3 Valleys. As a US (NYC area) based family, going to Europe has been an increasingly desirable option (cost, access, snow conditions, food, culture, etc), and the 3 Valleys area was high on the list for snow-surety in the less predictable December month. Going into the holidays w last-minute bookings for my family meant not every choice was economically sensible for us (ie Courcheval 1850 would require selling off a few Rolexes). We found Les Menuires which thankfully was great for families, good access, and viable price points. Ski-in/-out access from our hotel in Croisette meant no need for car as good restaurants abound for 6 nights, and easy access from GVA airport via Alpybus. Lift tickets and guide rates more affordable than the US (I am so done w Epic and Ikon, at least until US private equity gets their focus back to the ski experience and not upstream dividending of profits). Back to Menuires/3 Valleys: despite the last major storm being Dec 8 (at time of writing Dec 28), coverage was still good and access plentiful. W 600km of runs, it’s hard to run out of terrain. I could have skied here another week or two. Usually we go for 4 days and we’re tired of a place. This is the first time the kids said they wish we didn’t have to leave so soon. Pt de les Masse is a fantastic little bit, so easy and picturesque at the same time. Orelle (other side of Val Thorens beautiful). Would definitely come back. This is such a massive, well-connected area (not as disjointed as say Chamonix). Love the fact you can get across Menuires, Val Thorens, Meribel, Courchevel, etc better by ski than any non-foot-powered mode of transit. Will be back.
During winter saison, family friendly station compared to others in 3 vallées domain. Huge quantity of pists for all levels. We went three time around new year's eve period and the station organise dj sets and a couple of fireworks. You'll find all you need in the station (supermarket, butcher, bakeries, local food shops, bars, restaurants, pharmacy, hair cuts, sport shops, etc.)
So many trails to explore. Ski from resort to resort. Part of the 3 Valleys ski area, Courchevel, Meribel, Les Menuires, Val Thorens, Orelle, St. Martin de Belleville. Les Menuires is family friendly, filled with restaurants and shops and supermarkets. Very convenient for skiiers who just want to ski
Loved it here, stayed for 4 nights in a campsite @ €15 per night. Close to shops and slopes, free lift up to gondolas. If you are a beginner, you can use free lift and magic carpet all day for free. Some amazing and beautiful walks too
Great ski options! A lot of slopes and levels! The resort was pretty Quiet, no bars at all...
We were lucky to have arrived during a major storm and the skiing was excellent! The location, ski in ski out, restaurants, access to all the mountains was amazing - loved Trois Vallée and will be back!!!
Great resort, easy access to la masse (one of the real hidden gems of the 3 valleys along with Orelle) as well as Val Tho and the 3 valleys circuit.
A great find of a ski resort We have been to yhe 3 Valleys several times but the first time staying here. Terrain for all abilities and access to the rest of the 3V area
