Working with Bat+Co on our complete gut renovation in Paris was an absolute joy. We were managing the project from the U.S., and they made the entire process effortless. I can strongly recommend BAT&CO for the following reasons: Honesty and Integrity: With the exception of problems that could potentially be revealed during demolition, BAT&CO will fulfil their commitments within the agreed budget. If problems revealed during demolition require additional costs, BAT&CO will ask for your approval as they happen. In a couple of instances, BAT&CO uncovered shoddy electrical and plumbing work performed during prior construction, which they documented clearly for me and gave me the option to redo at additional cost. If you encourage them, and only if you encourage them, BAT&CO will make recommendations for improving your property. While it is natural to suspect a contractor of wanting to simply increase billings, BAT&CO has all the business it can handle, largely due to its reputation (as I subsequently learned from other sources), and it does not need to risk that reputation by encouraging unnecessary work. I always found their suggestions to be excellent and sensible, even if I did not accept them. Craftsmanship: In all trades: painting/plasterwork, carpentry/millwork/cabinetry, tile setting, plumbing and electrical were performed with great skill. There was an obvious difference between the work performed on my first renovation and the work performed by BAT&CO. Attention to detail: I think the word “fanatical” is strong enough to describe the level of attention that BAT&CO brings to the details of their work. Service: During construction, I received a continuous stream of e-mails with design drawings, pictures and videos that allowed me to be fully engaged in the design and to monitor construction progress, almost as well as if I had been on site. If I had questions or comments, BAT&CO always responded to my e-mail inquiries promptly and courteously. In most cases, any concerns that I raised were already in their plan.
