This station is located extremely deep underground; climbing the stairs is exhausting. More elevators or escalators should be installed. Additionally, there were many homeless people around the station entrance. And surrounding area also smelled strongly of urine.

The Abbesses metro station, located in the heart of Montmartre, is renowned for its charming Art Nouveau entrance, designed by architect Hector Guimard. The ornate wrought-iron canopy and glasswork create a distinctive and historic look, making it one of the most photographed metro entrances in Paris. However, the station also presents a challenge with its deep underground platform, accessible by a long and steep spiral staircase. Given the growing need for accessibility, it would be highly beneficial to replace the current spiral staircase with an elevator. This would improve accessibility for people with reduced mobility, strollers, and elderly passengers, making the station more inclusive without compromising its historical aesthetic. Introducing an elevator could ensure that all visitors, regardless of physical ability, can enjoy the beauty of Montmartre and its metro system with greater ease.

This metro station is deep, very deep underground. Would recommend to take the elevator to climb up. There was a beautiful, cozy and small Christmas market in the triangular area between the streets.
