Avis
“Line 8 of the Paris Metro is long and very useful, connecting many areas from Balard to Pointe du Lac. The station École Vétérinaire de Maisons-Alfort metro station is clean, calm, and easy to access, with a pleasant local atmosphere. Trains are regular and reliable, though it can be crowded during peak hours. Stations like Bastille and Opéra Garnier are great for tourists. Overall, it’s a practical and convenient metro line for daily travel and exploring Paris.
The ophthalmologists here were excellent — kind and so helpful. My dog had a corneal ulcer that had recurred, and my regular vet had said that if the antibiotics she gave him didn't work, she would have to sew up the eye, so I was very worried. Fortunately, when the ulcer returned it was after office hours, and I went to an emergency vet, who referred me to the ophthalmology department here at L'ecole nationale veterinaire. The ophthalmologist did a simple debridement procedure and then clearly outlined the options, with pros and cons, for if that didn't work (none of which were sewing up the eye, thankfully). The procedure worked though, and now my dog's eye is just fine. I'm so grateful!! Just one quick thing to know: I was asked for my ID at the main gate when I arrived for the appointment. Fortunately, I had mine on me, but I'm not sure it would necessarily have occurred to me that I'd need it. Just be sure to bring that along!
Only good things to say about the National Veterinary School at Maison-Alfort. first, they pick up the phone, they understand your problem, they give you instructions etc. Then, when you show up (in panic, like us) at the ER, they know you called, and - luckily in our case - one of the bird-specialized vets was available shortly after we arrived. She diagnosed rapidly, gave our bird an antibiotic treatment and thorough instructions to follow up on at home, along with the products needed. Our bird (and us) really felt well-taken of. Finally, they follow up via email too, when you have questions etc. The day-consult is also easy to reach, and the team is very responsive. We could not ask for more, really. Thank you Dr Piccini and the NAC team.
It's a vet school (amongst other things) and this is a win-win situation: if you're willing to help vet students get better (you should) and willing to wait the extra time for that, you'll get premium top-level service. They'll _really_ take care of you pet. Invaluable.
I went to this hospital with my dog several times already. Earlier for emergency, the last time for neurology consultancy. Always great experience. I believe he is in the good when he's treated by this team.
The Alfort National Veterinary School is welcoming, clean, and set in a pleasant environment. The staff is professional, efficient, and reasonably priced. The doctors approach animal care with a modern perspective, staying up-to-date with the latest practices and philosophies, which aligns well with my own views on caring for and living with animals.
Perfect follow up, a great doctor that I thank a lot again for explaining in a very detailed way my cat's disease and, especially being empathetic during these sudden and difficult times. I strongly strongly strongly recommend this hospital for your pets.
Our pets are our family members. They do not live as long as people, but during and in their short lives, they are closer to us than many people ever become in their longer lives. In good health, we enjoy their company and we hope they enjoy ours; in sickness, our pets try to pretend they are “ok” but we know better. During these difficult months in the past 2 or 3 years, our pets’ lives’ values are increased manifold to us and it is during these difficult times that the staff at veterinary schools and hospitals come through for us in flying colors. They cannot save each and every pet, each and every time, but their empathy and professionalism, mean the world to us, the pet-parents, in hardest of times: the end-of-life care. Exceptions aside, in majority of cases, it is a blessing to have a team as dedicated and well-coordinated as the veterinarians and their assistants HERE. Before, during, and after illnesses, we all wish to have had a team as capable as they — too bad, some of the clinics and hospitals for people are not always as efficient and good, as our veterinarians have been! Lucky for us, and our cats, that YOU ARE THERE. Thank you one and all for each and every act of care you provided [and provide still] for our beloved cat(s).
