I’ve been going to Sushi Kobo regularly for the past two years, ever since I moved to Bordeaux, and it has truly become my favorite spot in the city. This isn’t just a one-time impression — it’s a place I keep coming back to, and it never disappoints. What keeps me hooked is the incredible freshness of the ingredients, especially the salmon. Honestly, the salmon alone is amazing — it tastes so fresh, as if it just came straight out of the sea. The texture is smooth, rich, and melts perfectly with every bite. You can immediately tell the quality is on another level. The combination of salmon, avocado, and rice is simply perfect. The avocado is always creamy and fresh, never overripe, and it blends beautifully with the soft, slightly warm rice. Together, they create a balanced, satisfying bite that feels both light and indulgent at the same time. And I can’t skip the shrimp — it’s absolutely delicious. Perfectly prepared, flavorful, and with a clean, fresh taste that makes every piece stand out. The tartare is also a must-try; it’s full of flavor, well-seasoned, and incredibly enjoyable. I personally prefer going there for dinner. While lunch is a bit cheaper, dinner offers more variety and options that you simply don’t get during lunchtime. That extra range makes the experience even more special. Overall, Sushi Kobo is more than just a restaurant for me — it’s my go-to place for consistently fresh, high-quality sushi in Bordeaux.

Came to this Japanese restaurant for a weekend lunch 1st time to try out their service and food. They provide ala carte Buffet at 23.50€ per pax for sat lunch. For food choices, I think it is below average. Some common dishes ie. Tempura prawn only limited to 2 orders which I thought this is not considered any specialties but why limited to 2 and it doesn't taste any spectacular at all. As for freshness of food, medium. For taste, average. If U r far away and not so missed Japanese food, U may skip this. For their service, above average, orders were served fast and responsive. Atmosphere is pleasant and conducive.

Very good food! Can be a little crowded, but for the food I completely understand!

Fun to order by tablet and the staff were helpful too. The food was mostly good but a bit inconsistent. I had some fried chicken, which was cold in the middle. No discount offered but the waiter clearly felt bad so I don't really hold it against them. That said this place is probably more 3.5 than 4.5 for me. We won't be going back but I might try the Pessac restaurant, which I gather is the original one.

The sushi was very good, the staff was very friendly.

They are not Japanese and sushi had too much cheese. Half of the staff didn’t quite understand French…pity that the atmosphere was ok. Staff needs more training.

Just perfect, the service, the food, the price... I'll come back again for sure !
