We decided to do both of the tours on different days. Superb 4 hour safari choice of Camague or Alpilles with our knowledgeable guides. First up: a Tuesday morning safari to Camargue, with detailed information on the bulls, the horses, the agriculture production, history, irrigation, the Rhone, the Mediterranean and of course the flamingos, so much to find out on this wonderful trip. Second trip, The Friday afternoon to Alpilles. The light was perfect for photography. Historical influence of the area on Arles was made clear, Roman remains, hilltop villages, the art of Van Gogh, Olive production and an opportunity to taste the local Olive oil. Stunning landscapes only a short drive from Arles. Our drivers were fab, driving carefully and ensured we could say our two trips were the highlight of our visit to this wonderful area. Thank you Olivier and JeanPaul.
I am finally in the South of France! I read about the Camargue many years ago - the distinctive white horses, flamingoes and salt! The local black bulls were a surprise. My 4-hour safari yesterday morning was even better than I had hoped. Olivier, our guide, was great: punctual, knowledgeable, funny and passionate about this beautiful area, its traditions, and history. He ensured that we were able to photograph the animals, especially the flamingoes which were not particularly active on the day. Highly recommend this safari.
We had a very nice time during the safari, the guide was kind to us explaining about environmental factors, such as agricultural and animals breeding, and wildlife in Camargue. He often pulled over to show us birds, horses and bulls e to let us take photos. The only thing we regretted was the lasting of the pause in Saint Marie, too short for eating and visiting the place. Anyway I recommend this safari to everyone.
A great day in the Camargue with Flavio who was very knowledgeable and informative. It is such a beautiful and interesting area and we really enjoyed hearing about the animals, birds, environment, customs and history. Highly recommended.
What a delightful experience! Took the morning tour and saw lots of bulls, horses, and flamingos—even spotted some baby ducks following their mommas around. While it was 4 hours, the time went by quickly because you’re surrounded by beautiful landscapes. And our guide, Diana, was so friendly and knowledgeable! As much as we enjoyed seeing the wildlife, our time was made much more enjoyable because of her.
Wendy & I went on a Safari around the Camargue in the morning of 8th September. It was really enjoyable and good value at €48 each. It lasted for over 4 hours and we stopped at several locations where our excellent driver provided details about the wildlife, agriculture, history and the people of the Camargue. There were 6 tourists in the LandRover - 4 French and the two of us from England. The driver was very helpful and friendly and spoke in both French and English. The wildlife was spectacular including the horses, bulls, flamingoes and storks. The trip was very interesting and entertaining.
Great experience, taking in the whole of the Camargue story - not just the flora and fauna, but the farming and engineering that has made the environment what it is today. Enthusiastically and humorously narrated by our guide/driver whose passion for the region is obvious. Highly recommended.
Had a wonderful tour with Adrianne and two Parisians. Our guide was fantastic and the tour was extraordinary despite the tornadic Mistral winds. Adrianne was enthusiastic and very knowledgeable making the trip even more enjoyable. Saw all the main animals - horses, bulls, different birds and thousands of flamingos including one putting on a flashy bathing display. Highly recommended.
