Beautiful location, stunning setting.||We stayed here for four nights with our two children (10 and 15). The hotel is stunning with beautiful grounds. The pool, gardens and woodland are fabulous.||The staff are wonderful (although at times they appeared a little short staffed) and the restaurants are great. We are at both the Michelin star and bistro - both were very good.||The rooms in the annex were small and didn’t have air conditioning (we were there during a heatwave and it didn’t get below 28 degrees in the rooms at night). I’d stay in the main house next time. ||It’s a very special hotel and we will certainly revisit.||We’d also recommend booking Christian and his boat through the hotel. You can do a half day trip that picks you up and drops you off at the hotel’s pontoon.
An excellent stop off if touring Britanny. Located in beautiful private grounds leading down to the estuary with lovely woodland walks and jogging trails. The spa is fairly basic but there is a heated outdoor swimming pool. The food is fantastic with a Michelin star restaurant in addition to the dining room if you want to push the boat out. Book ahead
Our stay at Domaine de Locguénolé was nothing short of exceptional. From the moment we arrived, the staff were incredibly friendly and made a genuine effort with my children, which immediately set the tone for a relaxing family stay.||The hotel itself is a beautiful, high-quality property—elegant and full of character. Our room was spotless, with extremely comfortable beds that made it easy to fully unwind. Every detail felt carefully considered without ever tipping into being over the top; it’s luxurious, but in a way that feels warm and unpretentious.||We spent a wonderfully relaxing afternoon enjoying the spa and swimming pool, both of which were excellent and added to the overall sense of calm and indulgence.||The bistro was another highlight—fantastic food paired with a great wine selection. Breakfast is absolutely worth it as well, with everything fresh and of a very high standard.||All in all, this is French luxury at its best. It’s firmly on our family’s “go again” list—and quite honestly, I can’t wait to return.
You can’t judge a book by its cover. In this case the cover is beautiful…wonderful views, serene grounds, elaborate period furnishings. But open the book and serious flaws quickly emerge.||Upon check-in we were taken to a room that we had not booked (at a higher grade), shown around, and then told it was not ours.||Air Conditioning is a problem. Unfortunately we visited during a record-setting heat wave. The rooms were unbearably hot. Each room had one vent, which was located under the window behind heavy curtains. So in order to get what little A/C you could, you need to leave the curtains open. The resulting sunlight heats the room during the day and wakes you up at 6am in late May/June. On the first night, we were told there were no fans or portable a/c units and suffered a sleepless night. The next day, we went shopping for our own portable fan. Upon returning to the hotel, when a helpful young man (Arnaud) at reception saw us with the new fan, he told us that there were, in fact, fans available from the hotel and set one up in our room. He suggested that I return the fan and get a refund. I suggested that I did not wish to spend my vacation shopping and returning a fan due to the hotel’s failure. He took a copy of my receipt (€40) and indicated he would refer it to management. I was there for 6 days at €1k per night, but didn’t get a response until check out, when the cost of the fan was deducted from my bill.||Laundry Service is a problem. They outsource the service. They lost a pair of my pants for two days. My wife received someone else’s boxers and socks with her laundry.||Dining. The bistro is poorly designed and the food was terrible. The best seating for the bistro is on the outdoor terrace, which has a beautiful view. However, it also has direct sun in the evening in late May/June and was unbearably hot during our visit. All the guests wanted to be seated indoors, which was un-air conditioned. Also unbearably hot. The service was abrupt and dismissive.
We had a fantastic stay in this fully renovated hotel. The staff were outstanding, and the location is stunning. Our room was located near the SPA and tennis courts and each morning we woke to the sound of birdsong. Set in woodlands and next to the river. We didn’t want to leave!

Spectacular setting. It is a lovely retreat that has been tastefully renovated. There is a selection of various accommodations; we stayed in the Le Manoir and loved the intimate ambience. Staff at reception was delightful; very welcoming and helpful.
Generally the rooms in orangery and club are not well designed (though they look nice enough), with orangery missing air con, which was a problem as our first two days were still in oppressive heat. But aside from that this is a lovely hotel with wonderful grounds and an incredible kitchen, with both the brasserie and the Michelin noted restaurant serving up excellent food at a reasonable price (in their respective categories). The staff are all very pleasant and eager to help too.
