Unlike the London location, the indoor areas here were extremely warm, and the air conditioning and ventilation felt insufficient. Even with a Premier ticket, by the time you reach the lounge after a 10–15 minute walk through the venue, there is a good chance you will be sweating during the summer months. If the temperature is close to or above 30°C, I would strongly recommend bringing a bottle of cold water and a handheld fan, and wearing light clothing. Otherwise, the experience can become quite uncomfortable. I’m not sure whether this was due to a temporary issue on the day of our visit or if it is their usual standard, but I believe it is something that should be improved. If you do not have access to the lounge, the situation is likely to be even less comfortable.

We needed to clear customs and security and then get our VAT tax payments refunded and still had time for a cappuccino before they called our train. One thing that we know for certain about Eurostar is that those trains leave on time, so we were pleased the way things worked out. The ride to London was very smooth and considering that the distance in nearly 300 miles, it’s a little mind boggling that the whole trip city to city takes about 2 hours or 150 mph speed.

My Eurostar journey from Paris Gare du Nord to Amsterdam Centraal was a masterclass in high-speed rail. At 300 km/h, the transition from Parisian bustle to the serene Dutch canals in under 3.5 hours felt like a teleportation feat. The check-in at Gare du Nord was remarkably efficient, utilizing modern e-gates that respect a traveler’s time. Onboard, the TGV-PBA trainsets offer incredible stability and comfort, with reliable tech for productivity. Watching the landscape shift through Belgium and into the Netherlands is an engineering marvel in itself. This city-center connection is a premium, stress-free bridge between cultures that leaves air travel in the dust. 5 stars no doubt.

Unpredictable... It was supposed to be a sparkling shiny end of 20th century project.Undersea tunnel, convenient cars, expensive, but almost never on time! The staff is fantastic. Service is questionnabe. Looks like Gare du Nord needs a bit of cleaning. This is Paris after all.

Comfortable & Convenient Eurostar Experience Eurostar is truly a great way to travel — fast, smooth, and very convenient. The seats were quite comfortable, making the journey relaxing from start to finish. I also really appreciated that they provide an app where you can easily check your booking and even reselect a better seat if available. Super user-friendly! Overall, a pleasant and hassle-free experience. Would definitely travel with Eurostar again.

Eurostar Gare du Nord – Family travel experience ⭐⭐☆☆☆ We travelled as a family of four (with children aged 8 and 11) and arrived around 1 hour 45 minutes before departure, which should have been more than enough time. Unfortunately, the experience at Gare du Nord didn’t match expectations. 🚶‍♂️ Check-in Confusion On arrival, we were directed into the UK passport control section, only to later be told that the route we’d entered was for adults only. This meant: We (the adults) went through part of the process Then had to leave and queue again with the children Around 20 minutes wasted repeating steps Not the best start, especially with kids in tow. ⏳ Queues & Process The biggest issue was the number of queues and how they were managed: Ticket check French passport control UK border control Each stage had: Long queues, especially for families Little direction or prioritisation Adults seemingly moving through quicker while families were left waiting At times it felt like queues were merging and reforming, which added to the frustration. 👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 Family Experience Travelling with children made things noticeably slower: The family queue moved extremely slowly Other passengers appeared to move ahead more quickly No clear support or guidance for families 🚻 Facilities A major downside: No accessible toilets during the queueing process Once in the system, you’re committed to staying in line We couldn’t use facilities until boarding the train itself With children, this is far from ideal. 👎 Staff & Communication Perhaps the most disappointing part: Very limited communication from staff No reassurance about timings (“you’ll be fine”) Responses were simply: “just queue” At times came across as abrupt or unhelpful 🚆 Final Timing Despite arriving early, we only reached the train 15 minutes before departure, which felt unnecessarily stressful.

The line for the new biometric scan is quite long and slow, so leave extra time. The departure lounge is always busy, but once aboard the train it's quite comfortable. The journey is relatively quick and we wizzed through the beautiful French countryside. The staff are always very friendly and helpful. I believe Eurostar is the best way to get to Europe.

The Eurostar is a brilliant way to travel from Paris to London. You must go through passport control before entering the platform and are required to check-in two hours before departure. In addition to passport control there is a security checkpoint and you are required to carry all of your luggage. The train compartments are comfortable, however the baggage areas fill up quickly so you will want to queue up early to ensure you are able to stow your luggage as you enter the train car. The cars are numbered on the outside to make it easier to find your seat assignment. The train has two cafe cars where you can purchase sandwiches, snacks, soft drinks, and alcohol. You can also purchase the London public transportation Oyster Card that is used on buses and underground tube trains. The journey from Paris to London takes about two and half hours. The picturesque countryside speeds past as the Eurostar travels at speeds of 298 kph (185 mph). The ride is very smooth; the only downside was riding backwards the entire journey. Apparently there is no way to turn the engines around at the terminal. Other than seeing the countryside pass by in reverse the Eurostar provided a pleasant way to travel between France and England.
