My husband and I took 7 weeks of French at the AF in Rouen. The experience was fantastic in every way. We were in different levels and we both were happy with our teachers. They were both professional and helpful. They were encouraging and demanding and the two together helped us to progress through the difficulties of language acquisition. Everything was wonderful at the school, from the staff that greeted us in the morning when we arrived to the after school cultural activities, where we learned about Rouen, its history and offerings. We are retirees and we have spent a few years, so far, studying language and culture in a few European countries. AF in Rouen, Normandy, was certainly one of our best experiences. We highly recommend it!

Recently, I visited Rouen with our students, and they had a wonderful learning experience at Alliance Française Rouen. The organization was excellent, and the amazing teachers and friendly staff truly stood out. They were incredibly thoughtful and attentive, and everything was very well arranged from start to finish. I truly enjoyed the trip and would absolutely love to visit Alliance Française Rouen again in the future.

I had the opportunity to work for 5 weeks with several teachers, both in group and private classes. Overall, they were all excellent professionals, using different methodologies. In the private classes, many teachers emphasized my professional needs. The academic experience was very well organized, with schedules tailored to my immersion. You have access to an online platform. The welcoming, pedagogical, and administrative staff were very attentive and willing to answer any questions. Thank you very much.

I have taken 2 weeks’ intensive courses with drawing lesson in the afternoon. French teachers are very good. Clear explanation and also push students work a bit hard. The best is that every week test on conjunction. Thanks to them, which make me working hard and have learn a lot. Recommend!

I had a great experience at this school in Rouen. All the teachers were really good, each with different teaching styles that worked for me. I don’t like textbooks, in general, so appreciated that all teachers went beyond the books and brought in different materials which were much more interesting. I also appreciated that when I felt I was placed too high, the teacher listened to me and helped me switch to a lower level, which worked out much better. Students were mainly pretty young, but there were some older ones, like me, so this inter-generational experience kept class discussions lively. Also, people were from many different countries— very interesting! The pastry-making class was so much fun! I highly recommend that. It takes place off campus in an actual bakery. The chef is such a great teacher! I need to add that the administrative staff, Margot and Alex, were delightful and friendly! They really worked hard to meet the needs of all the various students. Great job Alliance Francaise in Rouen! And, by the way, Rouen is a wonderful city!

This is my second stay here at the Alliance française in Rouen, and it has been nothing short of extraordinary! The teachers are welcoming, they always keep you entertained and focused. There are a wide variety of cultural activities to choose from, usually held after class which gives you a good chance to practice your French with others. The receptionists are also very kind, and will do their best to help you find your feet. No matter your level of French, I would recommend studying here. It will soon feel like your second home!

I participated in the Online course. Unfortunately the structure and continuity of the classes have prevented this from being a good learning environment. Over the course of 4 weeks we have had 4 different teachers of different quality, and we have not built upon learning. Some lessons are well prepared, while others are not prepared at all and a lot of time is wasted. After asking for suppport and clarification from the office no resolutions have been offered.

Let me start by saying I LOVE l'Alliance Française!! I decided to take up French courses over the summer and I couldn't be happier with my decision. The teachers are so kind, knowledgeable, and passionate about their work. The amazing secretaries in the front of house will help you feel welcomed and organised. They even offer cultural events and excursions after class that really take the experience to the next level. There is no better way to become immersed in the language/culture than learning French and exploring Normandie with the FANTASTIC team members of Alliance Française and the wonderful new friends from all around the world that you will undoubtedly meet! I can't wait to come back and resume my studies now that I am back in Normandie!
