BELLE RIVE

Go here. A true Bistro experience in an otherwise commercial looking area. Well worth the fifteen minute stroll from the Gare Rive Droite. Clara, Victoria Lyn and Hugo who served us were totally charming and friendly, endless smiles ( especially when I practiced my french!). Food was hot, generous and delicious. We had Filet Mignon de porc, and Cassolette de colis aux poireaux et sauce soja ( pork loin in creamed leeks with potatoes and courgettes. Cod and leek dinner in soy sauce lwith creamed rice) Service was like lightning and we were extremely at home with these lovely restauranteurs. If we were here longer we would definitely return. Don't miss out!

A no-frills home style restaurant with a kitschy interior and the face of the restaurant was the sweetest lady you ever met! Definitely very local and felt like we were not in the city. My brothers and I thoroughly enjoyed our breakfast. Our café lattes were delicious and the croque madam was divine. I wish we could’ve tried more! Thank you for a pleasant meal.

Short review: Mixed at first, blown away by the end. Long review: The reviews were amazing so my expectations were high. Despite the cute french interior it felt more rural than i expected. The lady didn’t know what a flat white was, and after i explained it she made one for me and it was delicious. But i actually came for breakfast. I saw the pictures online of bagles and eggs etc and i was looking forward to an amazing breakfast/brunch. Then she let me know there were no sweets today due to a delivery problem and when i asked for the menu it was basically just omelette/ham/cheese and plain eggs. The bagle was a lunch/brunch item. Rather dissappointed i was ready to finish my coffee and leave. I politely told the lady of my dissappointment after having seen the pictures online. Then she came back asking if i was in a hurry. I said no and after about 40 minutes they served me the meal in the picture. Needless to say, I felt very special and well taken care of. 10/10, would recommend.

Our hostess deserves a special mention — she greeted us with a genuine smile, made us feel instantly welcome, and ensured that everything ran smoothly from start to finish. Her attention to detail and friendly manner truly elevated the experience. It’s rare to find a place where the food, service, and ambience all come together so seamlessly. I can’t recommend this restaurant highly enough — we’ll definitely be coming back soon!

Exceptional Experience at a Local French Café - A Hidden Gem in Town If you're searching for an authentic French dining experience, look no further than this charming local café. We were greeted warmly by the owner (Clara), whose friendliness set the tone for the entire visit. The ambiance is cozy and inviting. Clara speaks perfect English, so don’t worry if your French isn’t perfect. The food was simply outstanding. I had the bacon & camembert quiche, which was by far the best quiche I’ve ever had in my life. My partner had the veggie burger, which he said was fresh and delicious (and he’s not even a vegetarian). The attention to detail and passion for French cuisine truly shine here. I can't recommend this café enough. The combination of delicious food, a welcoming atmosphere, and a personable owner makes it a must-visit. This was our first day in Rouen and we couldn’t have asked for a better experience to start our month-long stay. Clara and her staff really made us feel at home. We will definitely be regulars at this lovely café. Five stars without hesitation!

Good experience. The food was correct (but not incredible) and the servie really great. So I recommand if you want to taste french food at fair price.

We arrived for a late lunch and were warmly welcomed by Clara. She kindly created a custom dish for my wife, who has some food allergies. The food was magnificent - delicious, satisfying and perfect for a cold day. Clara couldn’t have been kinder. It’s a bit out of the way, and caters mostly to locals. Which is a very good thing. Highly recommend!

What a wonderful place to eat and relax in Rouen! We were so lucky to find Clara’s La Belle Époque. You really do feel at home while enjoying her great French food. We would definitely return if we are in Rouen again. Thank you, Clara!
