This was a brilliant visit! Employee-led tour delivered with passion & expertise. Foreign language guides available if your french isn't up to it. Cheese tasing included. You need to book in advance - local office du tourisme will do this for you. There's ample car parking and picnic tables, you can, of course, buy Comte at the end of the visit! The visit takes about 90 minutes and dress warm - it's cold in there!

My tour was in French, but there was an English guide to read. It was really a great tour to see and really learn about Comte cheese and the care that goes into it.

Great visit, very informative. Only had one cheese to taste at the end, so couldn't compare how the taste matures as it ages. I read that other tours had 3 different aged cheeses to taste... maybe this is in the high season, we visited in April. Otherwise we'll worth a visit.

If you are in a big group and do not speak French, you get a booklet to read with no context. You then are lectured at in French for 90 minutes by a guide who can speak English but doesn't. Pity they are not transparent so that the consumer can make an informed choice.

A fascinating visit to the 'cathedral of cheese' - caves of Comte. Great tour with English written guide (tour is in French but don't let that put you off!) - they make you feel very included and check you understand! Lesson on how to taste the cheese and tasting also included for €8 pp - not to be missed for fans of Comte.

What a great experience. Kevin was amazing. We were late by almost an hour and he waited for us even if was a little bit late. He did a great tour showing us all the process for Comté.

Amazing amount of Comte cheese stored in an old fort. Informative your including cheese tasting. Avoid using Google Maps to get here - it'll take you on unpaved forest roads that end in a meadow (see photo). Instead navigate to the town of St. Antoine and follow the signs.

Thanks to our english speaking guide Kevin, we learned so much and had a wonderful time! A must-do if you're interested in French cheese and culture or if you're looking for an experience out of the ordinary.
