Exceptional stay, a mere 45 minutes from Calais. Strongly recommended for a weekend. We stayed for two nights in a silent and very comfortable room and both slept incredibly well. (reviews complaining about pillows, they are square and very comfortable!) The building is an interesting mix of classic French architecture and modern design. I think it works very well and the gardens are stunning. A quiet little haven. As for the food, we had high expectations with 2 Michelin stars, but it significantly surpassed those. A seasonal, and exciting, menu, served beautifully in a 'floating' dinning room above the moat. It shall go down as one of the best meals of my life. Service, of dining and hotel staff alike, was faultless. Clean and tidy, as you would expect. Spa was delightful, quiet and peaceful. Brasserie, on the second night, was equally brilliant, with some incredible dishes and lovely wine pairing suggestions from the waiting staff. Luxury French Hotel and Food, less than an hour from Calais. Just Perfect. We will be going back!

Very nice experience overall. The room was fantastic as well as the common areas. We enjoyed the spa facilities and massage service and I give them 5 stars. The indoor swimming pool, steam room and sauna welcome all guests without having to pay extra to access. We arrived ti the hotel with an electric car and found very useful that there were 3 charging parking stations in the main car park. The staff were very welcoming, kind, helpful and showed us into our room and how everything worked. The location is stunning. Please make sure you reserve some of your time to walk around the gardens and visit the animals. The only downside for me was that there were no pillows on the bed, only cushions, and the gym, there were only 3 machines (quite dated) and no weights or machines to do strength training. Thanks a lot for the experience!

We had a truly disappointing meal and service at the Michelin starred restaurant. the quality of the food was not to the standard expected. The menu was charged at £350 a head. On arrival we were served 6 tini blinis and a small container with local caviar and a glass of champagne. we thought it was the amuse bouche. We later discovered that we were charged £250 extra for this. We are also charged £60 for extra truffle we never requested. We were overcharged on drinks we never ordered or consumed and the wine I had ordered was added to our bill with an additional £50 compared to the wine list. We had to wait 1 hour for the first course and during the evening had to regularly pour our own drinks. I wrote to the hotel after our visit to ask for an apology and a refund and I'm still waiting after 3 days to hear back.

Come here for the delicious food. Not the sad unpardonable desecration of a beautiful historic house. The bedding was dirty. The bed room small despite the hotel being empty. The hotel was stark, cold and unwelcoming. Please buy some carpets or rugs to soften the place and provide warmth and welcome. Please make an effort to keep the one and only open fire in the one and only original room burning. I had to repeatedly ask to have the fire kept alive and it was minus 6 outside with 3 inches of snow! Breakfast is crazily at the orher end of the hotel from the kitchen! The food is exquisite in every way but the hotel "make over" a disaster. We would return for a meal but not to stay.

As ever, staff, room and dining experience were all excellent. The quality of the hotel and its great location close to the Autoroute make this a super stop over on our travels. Looking forward to our next stay!

This is a fabulous dining experience hotel with excellent rooms and environment. The food was delicious , we stayed two nights and had the 7 course gastronomic meal on both nights, though different menus .|The only real criticism was that on the second night the service was very slow , it took just under 4hrs to be served 6 courses so we left at 11.30 forgoing the last course. |The food was amazing and presentation and creativity exceptional. We have no hesitation in recommending and would certainly stay again .

Utterly underwhelming, definitely not 5-star facilities or service. Decor is unattractive and the grounds are too. Service is just not very good. The breakfast wasn't good, and the service was poor (waited 15 minutes without being offered tea or coffee or pastries, and eventually had to ask for it), and the napkins were paper. There's neither lotion nor conditioner in the rooms (in a suite, no less). The pool/spa is so small that even though the hotel seemed empty they were completely full, so I gave up and never used them. The hallway in front of the rooms smells like a portable toilet. The water isn't hot. There's neither much water nor any milk for tea/coffee in the rooms. The fancy 2-star Michelin restaurant was fine, but not memorable, and my fish was undercooked to the point of being rubbery, and the service was also lacking . . . we poured our own wine, had to send glasses back for bad smells and cutlery for having grease on it. The soups and sauces were all luke warm. For the price, this is definitely not worth it.

Booked at just 30 minutes' notice after another hotel let us down, we had a fabulous overnight at Chateau de Beaulieu. It's hard to imagine how anything could be improved - superb staff and service, amazing restaurant, and a simply beautiful hotel. Thank you to all of the team for looking after us, but a special mention for Candice on the front desk who was so welcoming and helpful.
