We really enjoyed our stay at this hotel. We were a family of three that first had a regular room with a large bed and two small rooms, then moved to a larger "suite" which is a bigger room with more space to move around and a large bed and sofa bed. This was perfect for us. It was at the end of the hotel near the train station on the 4th floor, and although we could sometimes hear a low rumble of trains, it was not bothersome at all (comparable to very distant thunder, easily ignored). We could not hear the guests on each side of us at all.||The rooms were both immaculately clean and the beds were very comfortable (including the pull-out sofa bed).||Every staff member we encountered was polite and helpful with questions we asked and requests we made.||Location is great: outside of the tourist area in the old town, but close enough to easily walk there, or to the lake.
Conveniently located next to the train station and a short walk into the old town. Hotel is of good size with a large (by Annecy standard) lobby and restaurant serving breakfast, brunch and dinner. Check in time is a bit late (4pm) but they offer luggage storage, and will try to get room ready earlier if they can. Staffs are always helpful and friendly. Room is good size, clean, modern and comfortable. There's a fridge with complimentary drinks that get refilled daily in the executive room. There's also a safe and slippers provided. Overall a good stay will definitely consider staying there again.
Pretty decent hotel located very close to the main train and bus station, which made it very accessible for day trips (if you have any!). It’s also a 10-minute walk to the beautiful old town and very near a shopping mall with major stores such as Monoprix, Sephora, Zara, etc. Room-wise, it’s pretty large for a family of 2 adults and 2 children. We had a room with extra beds (we initially had a room with just a sofa bed, but they added another bed for our younger one - not necessary, but a nice touch!). We have the mountain facing room, a room just above the train tracks. It wasn’t loud whenever a train is approaching the station - quite acceptable. Cleanliness wasn’t exceptional, but it was decent, even for someone particular. I didn’t like the separate toilet and bathroom, but everything else was okay. I also didn’t love the late check-in at 4 pm - not the norm worldwide, but all good. For Muslim travellers, there are a couple of halal food options just a few minutes’ walk around the block.
Decent hotel and the location is good. The rooms are big enough for a couple or a couple with a child. We did find nail clippings in our room and it was dusty. The hotel is right above the train tracks so you can hear the trains and feel the rumble at times. They did have good quality soaps and shampoos in the room from Rituals. Breakfast was not too bad but choices are limited.
I am writing this review as a client who books the Novotel for professional reasons. For many years, we have been coming to the Novotel to host our large (75 person) meetings and the venue is perfect for this! The amphitheater is professional and the meeting rooms have everything we need. The team has always been extremely flexible in accommodating our groups needs and wishes, and they go the extra step! The quality of the dinners is a high standard and the aperitif selection is tasty also - they even have a photo booth! The staff is very friendly and we enjoy hosting our events here.
Breakfast is average, nothing special. Room was clean and fine in terms of basic comfort. Staff was OK, polite and professional. One downside: early in the morning the whole building noticeably vibrates due to passing trains, which can be disturbing if you are a light sleeper. Another small but disappointing detail: there was a sticker on the fridge promising complimentary water, but no water was provided. In addition, the safe in the room was not working. Also, considering the price charged for parking, it would be reasonable to expect better lighting and cleaner conditions in the parking area — both clearly need improvement. Overall, a decent city hotel, but several details could and should be improved. View from window on the photo
I have been coming here for years now and they are so friendly and fantastic. Laura was very helpful when I had questions and Charlene at the Craic always had a big smile and can make a bad day better. A great place to network and meet many other entrepreneurs. Fantastic hotel and great location.
Extremely disappointed with the fitness room. The online description and photos do not reflect reality. There is a total lack of basic equipment, making it impossible to maintain a fitness routine. Highly misleading for guests who prioritize health and wellness.
