Our group of six had a lovely stay here! The rooms are a perfect balance of modern and cozy. All of the hotel staff were very friendly and welcoming and happy to speak to us in English which we were very grateful for. The spa is incredible - really more than you would expect in a hotel, and the cold plunge was an extra bonus we didn’t know about. The ski lockers were perfect for us, and the ski hire shop is immediately next door. The hotel is an incredible value. The quality of the place was so good, and the prices were very reasonable. There is a daily bakery service where you can order pastries from a proper homemade bakery, which is very nice because Les Houches doesn’t seem to have a bakery with everything homemade. The pastries we ordered were all amazing! One thing we didn’t know before booking which was our mistake. We had originally booked this hotel to be walking distance to the ski lift (Bellevue) so that we could avoid the buses, but the ski school meets at a different lift (Prarion) which is too far to walk with skis. The bus stop is immediately outside of the hotel so that was good, but just helpful to know that if you do ski school you will need to use the bus. Overall, we had an absolutely lovely stay. We would highly recommend Les Chalets Elena and we really hope to come back! A big thank you to everyone who made our stay lovely!
Just returned from a week long break at Chalet Elena. We had a 2 bedroom apartment that would sleep 6 comfortably. The kitchen is good, with lots of crockery/cutlery/glass wear etc. The beds were really comfortable and the space overall is really quiet - perfect for families. There is an outstanding pool and spa which i used every day. It was popular, but never overly busy. Great sauna and ice bath. The buses to the ski resorts were within 2 mins walk from the front of the hotel, and there is a really friendly ski hire shop next door. The supermarket is about a 5 mins walk, and there is an excellent fromagerie that also sells fresh bread etc about 3 mins walk away. The staff were all helpful and friendly. We would not hesitate to book again. Oh, and the skiing in Chamonix is outstanding too, but there are plenty of reviews about that elsewhere. One word of warning, I would not want to lose a key or break anything, as the charges for doing so are punitive.
My boyfriend and I had a beautiful stay at Les Chalets Elena. Starting with the arrival when we had a very kind welcoming, to the beautiful and spacious rooms, perfect amenities for a skiing trip and very nice spa facilities. There is a bus station right outside of the hotel that takes you in Chamonix in approx 25 minutes. We would definitiely come back again!
Have stayed here twice. Both times an excellent relaxed location for exploring across Les Houches, Chamonix (bus) and St Gervais (by train). Local intersport is great too. Spa pools are fantastic. Only issues have been rooms being too warm, only able to cool via opening windows through the night, and pool closing at 8pm.
My family had a wonderful stay in the residence. The stuff was very kind and helpful. The apartment was very big, with two bathrooms, kitchen, terrace and with nice, woody design. We had a parking spot in the underground parking. SPA area is very modern, with a swimming pool, 2 saunas, jacuzzi (strong one). Location was also perfect, close the town canter and to the lifts.
I can’t recommend this apartment hotel enough! Starting from a great service from the whole staff, firstly they gave us a free upgrade and they even let us stay one night longer, because one of us had a ski accident and go to the hospital. The apartment itself and the whole building is beautiful and well take care off. We felt really at home during our stay. The gym, the wellness area and the pool are all very beautiful. There is just one thing I would improve… the sauna, it is very spacious, but it has only one level to sit on, I would put a second level in the sauna. Everything else was perfect…
First things first I would absolutely stay here again as would I stay in another MGM complex. ||Stayed in a two bedroom apartment ample living space for 6 adults. There were 4 of us. ||Things that might be helpful. One hairdryer in our apartment. Nespresso machine with 3 capsules on arrival (if I’d known I would have brought extra from home). ||Swimming pool towels are in the apartment - you get one only for duration your stay. If you want to change this will cost. Toilet roll - again you are provided a roll in each bathroom you either have to buy more yourself or pay at reception. ||On leaving make sure you empty bins, clean dishes and put them away. Towels and bathrooms must be put in bathroom. Fridge/ freezer must be empty - as pervious reviews the charges for not doing this are extensive. ||The reception bar area closes at 8 a shame as it’s a lovely socialable area. ||Washing and dryer facilities are available - tokens can be purchased from reception €7 each. They looked good. ||Each apartment has its own ski locker - key is the apartment key - outstanding locker room and facilities within. ||Swimming pool area really nice. Unfortunately the sauna seemed to shut down every third day when we were there however when it was working it was great. ||Bus -ski 1 will take you where you need. There’s a bus timetable at the stops and a QR code which will show you live time the buses and allow you to get to stops in plenty time. ||Local shops within walking distance however a larger supermarket (think u store or similar) can be accessed by bus ( ski 1) towards Chamonix it’s a few stops away from apartments but the bus stop is right outside the supermarket so you can’t miss it. ||Can walk down hill to gondola however if you have kids, skis and the live bus tracking would recommend just getting the bus!
Absolutely amazing stay at this beautiful resort! |Lovely staff, very helpful on arrival arranging an earlier check in and providing us with details of how best to get around. |Very well kept, clean, warm and comfortable. We travelled as a group of 7 friends and stayed in a 3 bed/sleeps 8 apartment. It was huge! The large sofa pulled out into single beds that you could then move into a corner area, creating a cosy sleeping area. 2 balconies with beautiful views. Well equipped kitchen and cleaning facilities. 3 bathrooms and 2 toilets. Each person had 2 large towels, a small and a robe with slippers for the spa. |The spa was gorgeous, steam room. Sauna, cold plunge, very large hot tub and big swimming pool - not once was it over crowded! |Les Houches itself is a gorgeous little French village, plenty of places to eat, pastry shops and a decent supermarket - all within walking distance. |The Bellevue gondola is a 2 min walk down the road, didn't have to queue for this at this time of year. This takes you to the top of the slopes, and one of the bonuses was that the Mont Blonc tram stopped at the top of Bellevue too - if you get a mont blonc unlimited pass this is a free tram with access to other ski areas such as Saint Gervais (would recommend this trip too). |Bus stop outside Les Chalets Elena will take you to the Prarion lift 2 stops away giving you access to the other side of the mountain, or take you all the was to Chamoix.|Train station also walking distance...we used this once coming back from Le Fayet. |Would definitely recommend Chalets Elena and we would definitely stay again. 👌
