Visited this place twice, for dinner and brunch. Place offers amazing views, carefully limited food offerings and a decent wine card. Food quality is good, some dishes seems to be unpolished, however, this might be due to the change of the menu The staff is attentive and helpful. Try to book in advance. Google / theFork booking available. Expect ≈ EUR 120 for dinner and EUR 80 for brunch.
A very enjoyable restaurant with good food, surrounded by the beautiful scenery of the hills in the hinterland of the Provence coast and the Bandol area wineries. Even more satisfying for us who by know have understood that coastal Provence is a gastronomic desert (with one S). Here service is friendly and very relaxed, and the cooking is happening right in front of you, in the open central kitchen. We were here on the night of the exceptional northern lights, which in this area took the form of a mauve sky, the final surprise of the evening.
Having visited here yesterday for lunch I don't understand the negative reviews. The setting is sublime, the food is superb and the staff were friendly and attentive. My wife was very happy that I took her there.
Domaine de La Font des Pères is undeniably located in one of the most breathtaking spots in Provence. The view from the restaurant is absolutely stunning, offering a panoramic landscape that feels like a dream. Sitting there, surrounded by vineyards and rolling hills, creates an atmosphere of tranquility and beauty that is hard to match. However, when it came to the food, we found ourselves somewhat disappointed. Given the reputation of the place, we had high expectations for a refined and memorable culinary experience. Unfortunately, most of the dishes did not live up to those expectations. The tomato-based dish was the exception—it was well-prepared, flavorful, and showcased fresh ingredients. But beyond that, the rest of the meal felt underwhelming. The flavors lacked depth, and the execution of some dishes did not reflect the level of quality we had anticipated. It was a frustrating contrast—the setting was perfect, the ambiance was inviting, but the food did not match the excellence of the surroundings. While the service was polite and professional, it did not compensate for the overall disappointment in the meal itself. We truly wished for a more satisfying experience, as the location and concept of the restaurant had so much potential. Domaine de La Font des Pères is undoubtedly worth visiting for the view alone, but if food is the main priority, it may not be the best choice. We left feeling that the culinary aspect could be significantly improved to align with the stunning environment it is set in.
This place is stunningly beautiful, but everything else lacked. The tables are very small, uncomfortable to sit at and shake when you eat. The service was slow and inattentive (even though there were 4 people waiting on 7 tables only) and the person in charge of taking our wine order didn’t even know basic things about their wine menu (which are all wines from their own Domaine). After ordering our bill, they let us sit for several minutes because they would rather chat inside. The food was good, but not great, not salted enough and served in small portions (one main was so small it was basically a starter). It was a very expensive dinner which would’ve been absolutely ok if the service and food would have been up to standard, but unfortunately just was not. We won’t be back.
Review for the 'bistrot' side (other side is 'restaurant'). Sincerely disappointed. No value for money and certainly not worth calling 'gastronomic'. The fantastic view is what you pay for and makes many guests forget about the food in front of them. The kitchen is more like an assembly line where dishes are prepared quickly. It is rather a tapa bar where hot and cold dishes are all put together on the table. It is presented with little thought, no explanation and hurriedly. Little spiced and fairly tasteless. The cheese platter was poor and cheap: 3 pieces of Comté and 3 pieces of goat cheese together with as many drops of balsamic and a leaf of lettuce :( the only thing that was good was the wine. Never again.
Excellent
