Such a warm welcome! Very friendly place with a diverse menu for both seafood and meat. The seabass( bar) was excellent and the lamb shank fall off the bone delicious. We also tried oysters for the first time- and thanks to the kindness of the staff, they explained how to eat them- and we definitely enjoyed them- they were so fresh- definitely worth a visit.

La Rochelle is jam packed with restaurants, so actually deciding where to eat is tricky to start with. My wife selected this as the highest trip advisor restaurant that wasn't off the scale expensive (No. 4 of approx 450!). Most of the dining is on the first floor (2nd floor for Americans!) which meant the single waiter spent the night running up and down stairs. This inevitably slowed service down a bit, but he was never out of breath, was very friendly and spoke either French or English. Our was excellent. Beautifully presented and very tasty. The restaurant itself isn't particularly pretty, but good enough, although it did have the French curse of bright lighting - apparently they like to see what they are eating!

Excellent restaurant. Highly recommended. Creative dishes with fresh and seasoned ingredients. Paired with fabulous wines.

3,5 Stars. We chose this restaurant for our one night stay in La Rochelle because of the good ratings on TripAdvisor and google. Unfortunately we were disappointed. The food looked really good but unfortunately the taste wasn’t as good. Positive + good service and cozy location + starter: very good Dorade ceviche Negative - Steak: was dry and not medium cooked as ordered. Flavor of steak was nothing special - Salat: simple green lettuce - Gambas: nothing special - Brokkoli overcooked - Risotto: no Taste at all - bread: no good quality - staff didn’t ask how the food was Over all we would not recommend this place and we’re sad that we didn’t chose another one. Price /Quality Value is not given.

Delicious tuna tartare, with an excellent selection of cheeses and wines!

The food was delicious but the service was really erratic which caused a degree of tension. The manager/wait staff were very nice but the long waits for wine and food slightly spoiled the experience. It may have been an off evening. Based on the food and kindness of the staff would still recommend trying this restaurant.

The ambiance, service, food and price value - all fits and is great here! The placement upstairs really feels like an „island of calm“ while the room feels lively and cozy, with excellent staff (great wine recommendations). The food selection is small, but the dishes have range and surely everyone can find a fit. Delicious evening!
