Visited 3 times. First time was very nice, and very friendly. When we came back the 2nd time I practically had to beg for the bill and was rudely ignored by a young waitress. The 3rd time we just wanted some drinks but were sent away with some feeble excuse. The Pizzeria across the road however was very accommodating!
I found it very hard to classify this hotel. The welcome, the staff and the food were good. The room was bad.||||The room was a really dreadful colour with peeling paint and a musty smell. The double bed was small with barely room to walk either side. The bathroom was a decent size and clean. The view was fantastic and made it worthwhile. I felt it was overpriced at €80. We only settled for it as the first one we were offered was on the second floor and I did not want that many steps.||||The positives were the warm welcome from staff, the parts of the building that had not been spoilt, the Food and the position. The menus were reasonably priced, unpretentious and well cooked. The particular delight was an open wood fire where the meat was cooked. Salad starters were good as were the desserts. ||||Breakfast was a pleasant surprise. Good value with a lovely fresh fruit salad, yogurts, selection of dried meats and cheese. There was a selection of lovely bread, croissants and pain au chocolat.||||If you don't mind a poor room the rest is good.
Very nice location. Low level hotel with limited reception hours. Breakfast good even if limited choice. I recommend the rooms at the first floor, the second is under the roof, so hot in late spring and summer. Avoid the room number 11, is small, with 2 columns in the middle and very difficult to use the table.
Felt like we were staying at the Castle. The rooms are extremely clean and quiet. Nothing fancy, but the view will take your breath away. The room and bath are on the larger side for Europe and are very comfortable. ||The staff is like family and went out of their way to help us as we rode here on bikes. The next day we were to continue our bike trip but the weather was stormy. The staff helped us arrange for a taxi to pick us up and transport us to our next stop. ||We also had dinner and petite dejeuner here and it was very delicious. This is a special place.
Great place to stay and have a lovely diner. Certainly value for money. Rooms are fine. Breakfast is good.|Parking might sometimes be a challenge but for us not really an issue.|Super service as expected in France, merci. |We keep this one on our list and will return some day.|
Unfortunately we arrived at the height of a heatwave and consequently our rather small room at the top of the building was excessively hot! There is no air conditioning although we managed to find a fan which helped a bit. There is no parking at the hotel you have to park where you can in the village. It is a reasonable price for what you get. The evening meal was fine as was the breakfast.
We had chamber (room) 2 upstairs on 1st level which had large windows over looking the courtyard, garden and most importantly the castle. Room and bathroom were basic but spacious and clean. No air conditioning but not sure if required in the peak of summer given the elevation! As mentioned by previous guests, English very basic by staff but use your limited/'fluent' French and you will be fine. The 3 course dinner which we had was delicious. Taking a self guided tour of the castle and a stroll around this tiny village is a must
Nice rooms, lovely food, nice people. The only other time we stayed here was in 1978 and had very pleasant memories of that stay; we were not disappointed this time. The village has changed and the rooms have been re-decorated very simply and pleasantly. Nice bathroom.
