The hotel was quite off the map: the only thing in the area are private residences and this hotel. It's about a 20-25 minute drive from any of the other towns down a rough road. The hotel is much more colorful in the pictures than it is in real life. The pool itself is nice, but there is no beach here -- and at the moment, there are bulldozers attempting to clear the shorefront. The room itself is rather tired and seems outdated -- we were decidedly unimpressed, especially given the price point and remote location. It smells very musty, and, unfortunately, there is only a glass sliding door, so you can't leave a screen door open to help air it out. The wifi is essentially non-existent: the only place to access it is at the pool/restaurant. We attempted to dine at the restaurant during our stay and were ignored by the waitstaff for 25 minutes. By the time we wrangled someone over to our table (we really did have to, no one would give us the time of day), they told us we were five minutes late for service and were required to make a reservation in advance to let them know we would be dining (in contradiction to their signs). Needless to say, I would NOT recommend this hotel unless you are absolutely desperate. The best thing I can say about it is that it is only about a 30 minute drive from the island's best beach. x
Marker for this place is placed incorrectly! It’s at the end of road, not in the middle. Hotel is ok, there was amazing lady on reception. When I saw what is being served for breakfast, I rejected it. It looked like a joke to me. 8EUR for nothing. It may change when there’re more tourists,
We spent three nights last week there. Just want to add some support to some earlier reports. Yes, it is off the main road, which is rough but I found worse roads. The beds are comfortable, it is quiet, except on Sunday's. The breakfasts were good but I would avoid the dinners, so we would go out for lunch and have a light dinner in the room, from our frig. Overall it is a very clean, modest hotel and a good value.
Well the hotel has a lot of potential but quite a lot flaws that make it impossible to give 5 stars. The rooms are very simple and cleaning is not in the price included. The food at the restaurant is not worth trying as it is not fresh at all.||BUT: This hotel has the best staff! We have seen many hotels on Martinique but this one has the best people working for it. The receptionist gave us everything we asked for, were polite and super helpful even when we complained about things we didn't like. The barkeeper makes the best drinks and the whole atmosphere is just very friendly.||The pool area is quite nice but the biggest asset of the hotel is its location. Just one minute away from one of the best beaches on Martinique.||For us it was one of the better hotels on Martinique. To get the best rate, write an email to the hotel - I would suggest a panoramic Room as they have partial sea view.|
Hotel Cap Macabou has top-notch, friendly and accommodating staff. The grounds are gorgeous for the mountainous region! Rooms are rustically basic, but bed mattress was tempurpedic and comfy! The pool is awesome and located just outside the restaurant/bar area. Breakfast and dinner were local and fantastic! A special kudos to the fantastic kitchen/bar staff...we came in famished our first night shortly after dinner ended, and the wonderfully kind staff "scrounged up" a delicious meal of soup, salad and breadrolls for us as a courtesy meal, bless their hearts! You can't get better service than that!
I spent only one night at Cap Macabou before leaving Martinique. I booked this hotel because it is very close to Le Marin. The rooms are a bit too rustic for me but very clean. The pillows were not too comfy but for one night it wasn’t a big deal. We had dinner at the hotel, the food was acceptable. The staff instead was great, trying to help and make you feel really good. The beach is not maintained but it did not bother me as it was a short stay.
Hello all, if you're looking for a terrific, quiet location, search no more....this is it.||We booked here again on our second visit (Dec. 2016) to Martinique because we loved it so much the first visit (Feb. 2016). Fabulous staff, fabulous dinners and kudos to our Chef, for his creativity with local flavors! The only complaint I can lend the second time around is if your looking for quiet, don't stay on the weekends as they fill up with weddings and celebrations. We were up til 4 am with the young partiers next door and downstairs from us both Fri and Sat nights, even though we asked the desk to look into it. Sadly we had to cancel our early Sat morning plans as we didn't sleep!
Where to start ? ||Waste and pestilent waters at our arrival in front of the reception. ||The terrible, horrible state of pavement in the way to the hotel, with no sign visible of the place, almost give up going.||No beach whatsoever around, chairs at pool imposible to use. Never seen before.||A/C unit in room attached to room key, so when you leave the room forced to disconnect the unit.||2 towels per room and worst quality, will damage your skin, 12" TV...... ||Will never, never return. ||Only thing positive, the chef at the restaurant, nicest, sweet guy and excellent food.
